It's a double edged sword. It irks me that people think that being a celebrity, by being popular and successful at your given craft, whatever it may be, requires you to sacrifice any kind of privacy and dignity you should have as a human being. These people make a living entertaining us and give a large chunk of any kind of "normal" life to do so. That should be enough, yet most people have a bizarre, extreme attration and must-know drive regarding their personal lives. It's just messed up. You or I suffer the most personally painful events in our lives and if we want to curl up in bed with a pint of Ben & Jerry's in sweats with no makeup and sob til we look puffy and pathetic, no one's peeking in our windows. For these people, they have to do it with a telephoto lensed camera shoved up their ass. It's sad.
That said, people like Britney, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, etc, etc, unfortunately bring a lot of this on themselves. Celebrity people have and can lead their personal lives with a modicum of privacy. Jodie Foster comes to mind. Then you have people like the above crowd that live their lives in the tabloids on purpose. They use and abuse media to their own purposes and when it spirals out of control, and it always does, they want to play the "oh woe is me, the media is out for me" card. It's sad but, like Wenny said, actions have consequences. You can play with that media exposure fire all you want, but they're going to roast you.
Britney needs to take a long ass vacation. Go to a spa where she can work out with a personal trainer, do some yoga, meditate ffs, and figure out who the feck she wants to be. Whatever she does, she needs to not be making her "big re-emergence" into the spotlight until she gets her shit together. And considering the damage she's already done, that ship may have long since already sailed.
