Just tried using the "Angelwing" firework the goblin gave me. Was in a wide open area in case it was something unlike what it sounds like...but nothing happened. Has anyone else noticed this / has this issue?

Did you look on your character? From the name Im getting the feelings its kinda like those butterfly wings fireworks... But I havent tried them so idk.

Id really like to get the +3% HP moogle belt... Anyone know how long I gotta wait for that?

I assumed it'd be something like the butterfly wings (Papillion) but got nothing to that effect. No noticeable graphics change to my character, nothing in the ground, around the character, nor in the air. No SFX played, either...just seemed to free up the item slot by using it.

Worked fine for me in an xp pt last night...

I want those..........

sounds like youre missing a dat file, I guess. If you had a stack of them, give one to a friend and ask them to use it. Maybe you can see it then? (doubt it though)

Yeah, I DEFINITELY didn't get anything to that effect.
What a ripoff. =\ And unfortunately the moogle only gives one of the firework...don't see how it's possible to be missing a DAT file though, I play on PS2 so it's not like one could've been misplaced.

Thanks for helping me figure this out guys ^^

why do SE keep spending resources on making useless fireworks, instead of actually doing something usefull? like, say, an actually /dance emote, or gear that is not recolored

Probably because it's a lot easier to just throw together a quick firework than to plan and make entirely new animations. I'd love different models for the gear, SE is way too lazy when it comes to models. .Dat mods helps though.

Screw a /dance emote. In spite of the fact that it is literally an MMO staple that is in just about every other competitor that came before (or followed), it's still not what FFXI is hurting for the most.

From day one, this game has been aching for a /duel command. The lack of one is an absolute sin. PVP should NOT be something restricted to obscure side-games that nobody plays anymore. Yes, Ballista and the like can be fun, but it's such a pain-in-the-ass to get it started, most people are never going to experience it more than once or twice. I haven't seen anyone I know go for Ballista in a looooooooong time.

/Duel, on the other hand, is a simple one-time, 1v1 battle. Every other major MMO in existence has this basic feature, except Final Fantasy XI. It's inexcusable.

Another possible explanation is if you have graphical effects filtered (that firework would probably fall under "you -> you"). Haven't tried filters and that particular firework, but I do know they apply to at least some fireworks.

i havent really looked at this event i just grabed my ring and soloed on my nin so how do you get the fireworks/moogle belt and is the fireworks rare/ex cause if its not id gladly let you have mine cause id most likly through mine away
