Broomball!!!!

My first Broomball season here at college!! w00t!

What is broomball you ask? Well..

Basically, it is two teams of 6(5 player/1 goalie) and a rink made on the frozen over pond. We tape up brooms, put on kneepads and play hockey!!! No skates, no shoulder pads... none of that shit... just brooms, ice, a kickball, and the occasional swig of alcohol(this is school sanctioned sport by the way)^^

This year there are 16 teams. My team(Los Papi Chulos) just played our first ganme against the Old Dirty Bastards and kicked ass! 2-0. It was awesome. Insanely slippery... but awesome! We had team shirt, sombreros, fake mustaches, and Mexican Polka blasting from a stereo!

Our next game is in about 3 hours, hopefully we'll kick ass again. Here is a picture from one of yesterdays games.(Dead Presidents v. The British Invasion I think...)

Woot!!!! We're in the finals!!!! Now the winner of the loser bracket has to beat us twice in a row... should be an interesting game ^^

EDIT: We are the champions!! W00t!!!! Sorry, I'm just really pumped right now... it was an awesome game. Was 0-0 in regulation and then we won it about 4 minutes into overtime!

:lol: Yep, used to play this all winter long here.... then again, this is Canada, so what do you excpect.

I just consider myself lucky I still have all my teeth! lol

They actually used to teach it here and play it in gymnasium, think they still do in some school. But it's not at all sanctionned... crazy canuks! :wink:
