Lvled my 25 beast to 35 in 3 days thanks to soloing, and ptys ^^. Currently lvl 37 now, about to lvl again as I post this ^^.
 
Kinda funny, but I was running through Qufim earlier and saw an /anon BST. I told him it would be a good idea to stop going /anon so other Beastmasters could know if a camp was likely occupied or not.

His response? He was going /anon to avoid party invites.

Truly, the face of the job has changed.
 
It's great BSTs are getting invited to parties more often, but in a way I think people are missing out on some of the magic. Leveling BST via parties is all fine and good if you can make it work, but I don't think it will ever give you the sense of accomplishment - or the brass balls - leveling it solo or in a duo will. Solo BSTs gain skills that help them survive situations no one else can.

Grats on leveling so fast though. Partying on BST isn't for someone who maintains the old school mentality like I do, but it isn't a bad thing either. Soloing isn't for everyone.

Only thing I disagree with is that bsts get more parties... I have to beg like an infant in order to get a party with a close friend, I have never gotten an invite past level 15. So yea, getting anything is unlikely without a static or something similar


I've encountered my fair share of 'Exp Pt' Bsts... 1/10th of them are really any good, the other 9 just don't know how to efficiently do their job alone or in a duo/trio etc.

Back to the point, congrats on getting Leave, it's an awesome ability. And good luck to you in the not so distant 60's and 70's..
 
Congrats, just don't forget what you've learned in the solo arena, and you're golden.

Halifirien and I have come across a number of party BSTs while leveling in our duo, in places like Qufim Island, the jungles and the Crawler's Nest. Most of them are probably partying with friends, so I actually wouldn't get my hopes up if I was a BST putting my flag up hoping for something random, but you still see them in parties more than ever before.

I definitely agree with you that the vast majority of them are subpar, to say the least. I'm happy to have a duo partner who's going to stick with me to the end because I can trust him - we both know how to solo and we can put our lives in the other's hands. I don't think I could sink that much trust into a BST who's gotten most of their levels via the traditional party system.

Gotta disgaree on the more invites thing though. 70% of the time I seek, offering eith /WAR (sorry, gimped a level right now...) or /NIN and I get nothing, ever. =P Oh well, Klank recently upgraded Haub and I don't think a BST DDing in SH would fly well in a party anyhow.
 
When I say "BSTs are getting more parties," keep in mind that seeing 4-6 party BSTs since the MPK nerf is a lot more than I'd ever seen pre-nerf. Maybe they're partying with friends. No idea.

Edit: Another funny moment came the other day when Neyla and I were duoing in Labyrinth of Onzozo. I usually set up my search comment to explain where we're camped, what we're charming/fighting etc. I'd forgotten it, and I got a /tell from someone asking if it was an all-BST party or a regular xp party they could join. That made me grin.

Only hardcore ppl play bst lol, take lot of time to exp.
