Alrighty, I'm workin on beastmaster, the only question I have is if I Marco in Chr gear when charming, is it still effective marcoing out for regular gear or should I keep the Chr gear even after the mob's been charmed?

:3 a simple answer would do.

You only need the CHR gear for the charm. You can switch back to something else after it has landed. Keeping CHR gear on after the Charm lands won't keep it charmed any longer than normal, if that's what you're wondering. Only the Charm + from AF and AF2 effect that.

Sexy, that's all i wanted to know. Time to stock up on Chr gear.

There's no need to go overboard with it when it comes to Charisma. CHR is largely overrated unless you're charming something particularly resistant like a slime or a mob that's Tough or higher, like when some BSTs go to solo their subligar in the Aqueducts and Charm something IT+. No matter how much CHR you stack though, anything T+ will turn on you in a short amount of time unless you 2hr it.

The Charm+ gear, once you can obtain and equip it, is more beneficial overall, though tossing some CHR in on top of it will help since Charm+ plays no role on making your Charm land in the first place, just its duration. (You can also switch the Charm+ stuff out after the Charm lands, just like the CHR stuff.) Once you hit 51, an Apollo's Staff will pretty much trump anything with CHR you can find. The NQ Light Staff is fine itself as well, but the difference made by the HQ is even more noticeable.

The people who need to concern themselves the most with CHR are mithra and even then I had a far better charm rate than the tarutaru I duo'd my way up with despite his base stat advantage and our using the same Charm setup. Mischarmifirien could be a royal pain in my ass at times.

"short amount of time" is dependant entirely on level. If you charm something 1 level higher than you, you likely won't notice a time decrease unless the fight drags on.

Dunno how many times I've charmed T crabs skilling up Scythe in Boyahda without realizing it.

That's true. But I also imagine you have something with Charm+ written into your Charm macro as well, even though I don't know your setup. That certainly helps you out when you're not paying attention and make a mistake like that. But I wouldn't start a more strenuous fight off with something all that much stronger than you, especially at pre-AF levels.

Next question, are Jugs only the level you can equip them at? Or do they level with you?

Surely you've noticed Courier Carrie's jug is only level 23 to equip.

Surely you've noticed level 75s using it.

Surely.

Ive noticed that, but I also saw some sorta higher lvl version which made my first few thoughts, iffy.

Most jug pets eventually cap out at specific levels but some don't, though they'll always be a few levels under you unless you merit Beast Affinity to decrease the gap. The NQ crab, for example, caps in the mid-50s. The HQ version of jugs always caps higher than the NQ.

Really, it only matters if you're partying, doing events like TheFlock, or puttering around in an area where nothing can be charmed since jug pets are a joke compared to natural wildlife. Dig around online long enough and you'll eventually come across a list of all the jugs and their caps.

Dont suppose you know a website or two that I can go too? =P

Mind you, Diremite is way, way, way better than Carrie in terms of damage (Carrie is 0.47DPS, Diremite is 0.79 and I believe has a shot at Double Attack on top of it's WSes being, well, useful) and isn't all that expensive anymore. It's cap is 65 though, so from then on it it won't quite be worth it in XP situations until you get Beast Affinity and relic hands. [To be honest, I may be wrong on this - It may only be Lars, the HQ Jug, that caps at 65...though I'm rather sure Diremites/NQ cap at 65 as well, as from what I've seen the out-DD Carries to hell at 75 with full Beast Affinity/Relic Hands)

Considering their synth level and yield, you'd be -much- better off actually farming the materials to make Diremites as well - the HQ jug is one of the best DDs out there and HQ rate is pretty decent as well, and the materials are fairly common.

Funguars are also a fun jug pet. There's a school of thought that holds them to be better DDs than CourierCarrie at 75 with Beast Affinity support.
