BST TP Configuration

So, after finally finishing up some of the THF equips I was working on, I figure its time to get cracking on the BST (since it was my first job @ 75 and all the others went there /bst hehe). It saddens me greatly to think that the only time I have even worn my Haidates / KO(the reason I started sky so long ago) was doing circles in my MH around Manny the Moogle.

I am well versed in the overall setup of BST, having the standard "toned down" set for DDing with pet tank, jug pops, etc and the normal charm / resist charm setup. I have two questions for my fellow BSTs here:

1) In the crazy situation you get to play BST solely for dmg (gasp merit?) or helping out somewhere as a DD. What is your TP setup and what do you have on your wish list?

2) Considering a higher end mob for EVA and VIT, what jug pet or charm pet do you like for the most dmg? (I have maxed BA and currently like the look of funguar still, but wondering if we have any sunwater and/or lifedrinker fans)

Thanks for your time, please post full sets. I would love to put them together with a static merit and give some numbers for feedback.

What I used:

Sky was for pld gear. No other access. Rarely did assaults. Consider this the laziest setup ever.

Neck: Chiv chain
Body: Hauberk
Hands: Dusk gloves
Legs: Haidate / Exorcist hose
Feet: I dont even remember >.>
Earrings: CHR Earrings
Rings: Ruby rings (I know.. i know..)
Back: AM+1
Waist: Warwolf belt

What I would use now:

Weapon: Juggy/Man
Ammo: Tiphia Sting
Head: Turban
Neck: PPC
Body: Hauby (-eva wont matter as you wont pull lots of hate anyways)
Hands: Dusk
Legs: Haidate
Feet: Dusk
Earrings: Mermaid/Brutal
Rings: Snipers
Back: Forager's Mantle
Waist: Speed Belt(lol)

What I used for solo:

Weapon: Maneater / Tatami shield
Head: Ohat / AF1or2
Neck: :dur:
Body: Monster Jacket / Gaudy - depending on sub
Hands: Trainer's gloves (-enm)
Legs: Exorcist Hose(+STR, ACC)/AF1 (+charm, +chr)
Feet: Dance Shoes (+eva, +chr)
Rings: CHR / STR
Earrings: CHR
Back: AM+1 / Replublic Army Mantle (dex,vit,hp)
Waist: CHR

Basically I just used my Charm gear / a small switch up when i was comfortable. For solo, you were releasing at like 2-3% and just rampaging anyways. Worst thing would be to have too much DD gear and have your pet drop charm and molest you sideways. This way you could just Charm <stpc> or "last target" in your macro and not have to change to your light/apollos and lose your tp.

That got me every time. Drop charm, swap gear, recharm, fight, and die cuz too much hate and no tp to finish it off.

Its not the best setup but pretty obtainable. Hope this helps.

I think my damage set is in my sig. I don't tone it down for exp. I just ninja tank for a minute. It doesn't get me killed, an my pet appreciates it. I just lose money on shihei. But I haven't been bst main in quite a while...

I use maneater/temperance + virtue stones on mine, plus the regular other items like turban, haub, dusk gloves, khimaira gamashes, peacock, brutal+suppa (Brutal stacks with Temperence, which is cool for the rare 5-hit attack round), haidate, etc.

I need to get more stones. I think that's probably the main reason I haven't played with my bst in a while lol. That axe is like crack...

Eh, there's some missing stuff that could make this better. I consider my Beastmaster almost done besides the really annoying/difficult/expensive to obtain stuff aka Adaman Hauberk, Guttler, Toreador's Ring, Dusk Gloves +1, ect;

If you're going to use Snarl a lot, CourierCarrie seems to have the most survivability. If just plain damage dealing, FunguarFamiliar with Beast Affinity 5/5 is non-expensive way for damage. You can buy a stack for less than 13000 at an NPC in Kazham. You can always test around 65-75 cap pets with what you like. (Diremite, Mandragora, Cactuar)

Merit areas where a Beastmaster shines would be Trolls (Mt. Z). Go charm a Mountain Clot and have some mad fun. I don't know how to parse, but I'd love to parse my Beastmaster + pet against a well equipped Warrior to see if I can keep up in damage.

Beastmaster/Ninja Setup:
Beastmaster lacks some attack and strength that a Warrior has, so I enjoy Juggernaut sub...makes up for a little for the low strength/attack. I haven't tried Temperence Axe yet though, but it may be the best for damage over time.

Will loose TP if you use it, and as for the emtpy leg slot I haven't figured out what to put yet. But, if you're using an expensive pet...may as well loose some TP to save gil I suppose. If you're rich...by all means ignore this set and keep popping those cactuar jugs!
