Building a Better Dragoon

A well-geared meat THF can contend with "top tier" DDs.

also, I was speaking more towards DRG's lack of decent endgame WS.

Then DoT (and WS to some extent) suffer. THF's main advantage over other jobs is the ability to stack large amounts of acc for a meat build while still maintaining high numbers of haste. DRG can do that too, but 2hand weapons just aren't very good in comparison to dual wield.

I think parties in caedarva would rather have actual damage instead of extra crystals or insect/imp wings.

I'd call breaking 2k on imps and 2.5k on flies actual damage. :)
Sure wish I had better WS gear...
I know you're just replying to stupid posts, Ele^^

Anyways, let's all rip on each other out of fucking nowhere because that's 1337er than your grandma.

I do...at level 65. I think gimps like seeing their WS take out a mob at level 75.

Yeah, after I took BST up high enough and managed to join a party against imps at 68 with a bunch of 67s-69s and we plowed through them, it became pretty apparent how shitty that camp is for 75s. Not that I merited much there anyway, just about any other Level 75 stomping ground is superior, even in olds zones.

DRG will always be just a toy for caedamire merit parties.

^ What does that have to do with a topic on advice for some new guy lvling DRG?

Whoever started this post, did you get anything good from it? Or did you stop reading it when people started hacking at each other?

A well merited and geared drg can come within 2% of ridillberk wars on parse against trolls so I wouldn't cry too much over drg's crappy damage.

/war lets drg keep up with almost anyone except you need somone who can keep hate off you at least a lot of the time, jumps can only help so much, which is why I'm stuck with gimp /nin or /mage a ton to avoid being an mp sponge.

Yes. I got what I needed, thanks to some expert advice from Eleibfrid (the original non-LOL DRG =P)

Are we talking good WARs or the blitz rings commonly found within your shell?

Most DD jobs can do that. But if you're subbing war in a merit pt just to parse better at the expense of everyone else's xp because you're taking so much dmg, that's stupid and hurts the pt more than it helps your e-peen.

Well in Necrosis' defense, *somebody* has to be the puller, and who better than someone that has programs that allow them to run faster than normal?

I was stating a point, no need to get a stick up your ass.

also: i play on ps2

/war isn't the MP sponge you'd think it is if you know how to Super Jump/Super Climb properly. It saves lives.

I think a reverse Spirit Link would be a pretty good idea. Spirit Surge is like that, but being able to take some HP from your wyvern here and there would be sweet, especially since you can call it back every 20 minutes if it dies. In the later levels, thats something that'd help out having an offensive subjob.

also: "I play on ps2" is as old as "banned for windower"

What he said but again if you outparse everyone else in the PT by a ton it wont be enough, but it's absolutely great when working with ridillberk wars.

That same PT had a sam/war who took as much damage as the rest of the PT combined and was outparsed by everyone else in the PT. This is the difference high jump and super jump can make as well as having a pet contribute a small portion of your damage.

What is a blitz ring?
