I was attempting to bring together a decent PT, so I enlisted the help of a SMN (Sarlin), a THF(Lordgama), a BLM(Maus), a RDM (Kilato)(Jap), a WAR(Lard), and MNK (Inocre/myself). Everything was going seemingly decent, using an Empress Band, I was getting about 180-240xp per Mandragora(sp?). We start chaining them, and no one is getting their skillchains off correctly, and I examine everyone, which I should have done in the first place, and notice that my BLM has lvl4 gear on, except for some level 10/14 earrings. My thief is also wearing very low gear, and is missing his SA/TA every time. Lard is the tank, and he is doing a very decent job. He's keeping hate for the most part, and when his life gets too low, being a monk with higher HP than most, I {Provoke} the mob off of him, and obtain the hate myself. Well, Kilato decides that as a RDM, it is his sole duty to DD to mob, instead of casting ANY buffs at all. He is level 26, with 1k left tnl. I /sigh and try to use the Auto Translator to explain to him. "Kilato {Heal}{Understood}." He says ok. Well, I finally get to lvl26, when the THF starting pulling gobs by accidentally getting aggro'd. I pop a prism powder, and run out past the walls and look around, seeing if there are any Mandy's. And there aren't. Also, no gobs. So I run back to camp, and wait for the THF, once again, to run out and attempt to pull something. He pulls something all right. He zones, running away from the Goblin Smithy, and the Gob vanishes. Well, it either "repops" or spawns again, and this time it is right next to our SMN. At the time, the SMN had been using Ifrit to attack the mobs, and she attempts to astral flow it. Big mistake. It attacks her, and instead of watching her die, I {Provoke} it. It comes after me, while the rest of the PT zones. I run around, letting my HP slowly dwindle down until I have 19 left. Then I die. My PT comes back, and stands next to the walls. During this time, the RDM pulls another Mandy, and the WAR /disband 's. Thankfully another PT's PL casts {Raise} on me, and I luckily didn't delevel. I walk over to my party, finally unweakened, and ask the RDM to heal me. SMN also has a WHM subjob, so I politely ask for a heal from them, since the RDM isnt responding. It gets to the point where the THF and RDM are not doing their jobs, and the BLM is constantly resting during battle. I /tell Sarlin what I feel about the party, and the direction it is going in, and in the meantime ask a LS member to help me out by joining up. But since I have invited the SAM from my LS to join up, she has invited other people as well. We sit there arguing for a good 30 minutes about what is going on with the party, and whether or not it would be "ethically" sound to boot someone from the PT for not doing what is expected of them. She tells me it isnt right, so I hand her leader. Maus leaves the pt, without saying anything, and Lordgama pulls again, getting Sarlin killed. All while we have said to wait. Kilato attacks the mob instead of running, and dies. I provoke, running I make it to the zone line. I stay outside and wait on friends from the LS to show up, and we make a kickass pt that is getting consistent Chain5's.

Moral of this story is: When you see something not coming together after the first HOUR you've wasted on it, screw what others say, and boot the problematic people. ^^

Yeah..I forgot. /em smacks his head hard against the keyboard The reason I got upset about this, was because after everything I did for them, they did nothing to return the favor. After the many times I tried to explain the skillchains to them, they couldnt understand. And the RDM would NEVER HEAL ME AT ALL >.> He would heal the BLM, the WAR, the SMN, but not me. So I ended up having to /heal so that I wouldnt keep dieing. Well, I lost my TP EVERYTIME, so I was never able to use a WS. >.< Fucking rediculous

TL;DR .. for the most part .. more people should incorporate a moral at the end of posts like that, it helps ... if it's any consolation the textbomb singed my eyebrows.

I'll put myself on paragraphizing duty:

It's still kind of hard to read, but it helps a little.

Respect points +2 for awknowledging that there kick button is there for a reason. ;)

Whoever said that it's not right to kick crappy people is probably one of the same asshats that's complaining about them getting to level 75.

If you keep kicking them when they aren't playing well, they will either quit the game or get better. Win win for everyone.

Seriously people, if you dont' get the simplest notions of your job, do everyone a favour and don't XP on it until you learn it.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Tanks keep hate. That means provoking and doing what you can to stay alive. It's not a hard task, if you phail, try Black Mage.

Damage Dealer Melees... well... auto attack 4tw! If you don't skillchain, then just wtf are you doing?

Damage Dealer Mages, hit are hard as you can without taking hate from the tank. I know it gives you a boner when you OMGistolehatefromtankagainIAMSO1337!!!11!! ...but that's not what you are there for, and you are failing at your job. Unless your tank phails at his job. Then you guys should swap jobs and you'll be fine.

Healers... FUCKING HEAL. AND THAT MEANS STATUSES WITHOUT PEOPLE BEGGING YOU FOR CHRISTS SAKES!!!

Enfeeblers, just shut up and do your job. Quit telling us how awesome you are as a melee with a funny hat.

...that is all.

What is with all the grammer nazi's on these forums? Christ, it's an online thread page. Get over it, if you can't read it I'd look at your comprehensive skills before you go and start fixing grammatical errors, or just don't read it. Seriously though get a life.

Witht that, I'd like to add that I'm probably not -na'ing you for a reason. I'm sorry, but if I see 500 "So-and-so is paralyzed" and the tank is down to 200HP, there are priorities. And recast timers.

When I levelled BLM to 38 (for use as a sub) I got to Magic Burst in a whole 2 parties....

When I levelled DRK to 37, I knew at least we'd have a renkei (only because I'd close it), and I only ever had one BLM try to burst...

If you're going to wait for a party that has all the basics to level, you could be waiting a long time ; ;

I was basically pointing out that Kilato was a horrible RDM, and Maus had no business being in Yuhtunga (sp?) Jungle in the first place. The WAR was doing a decent job, until he just up and vanished completely, without saying a word. I was having to save everyone's ass, and ended up dieing in the process. Not a worthwhile investment in my time and money I've paid to play this game. That was the point of the post.

Not to mention the fact that if you have a 1-damage-per-tick poison effect up, as a melee class, you're not getting a poisona from me unless I literally have nothing else to do. Something like that is at the bottom of my list. The folks with MP to recover need it first, so they can heal. THEM, I will Poisona as soon as I can.

You?

If it's a weak poison, yours will wear off naturally within a few seconds. If you're slowed, yes, you get an erase, and if you're paralyzed, yes ... you get a paralyna. But a thirty-second POISON? Forgive me if I value a tick of rested MP more than giving the dragoon a clean bill of health. -_-

If you're a monk with 900 bloody HP in Crawler's Nest, in danger of losing 12 hit points, do not bother me with:

"Poisoned."

"I'm poisoned."

"Hey, I'm poisoned!"

(I sigh, give up, and just try to shut him up)

Winklewil begins casting Poisona on Loudmonk.
Winklewil's Poisona has no effect on Loudmonk.

"Oh l0lz it wore off."

To add a few more things related to this:

1) I'm a black mage, red mage, summoner, whatever. I need to heal for MP. Poisona me BEFORE the goddamn thief. When it comes to DOT effects, ALWAYS take care of those with MP first.

2) If something has a big AoE poison attack, like a crawler, and you're a white mage, it is beneficial to cast barpoisona and barwatera. If I hear "barpoisona doesn't stop it l0lz" one more time, I'm going to shriek. You're not understanding that the spell is meant to lower poison POTENCY, not protect you from it straight out. The barwater effect is what gives you a small chance at resisting it straight up ... not to mention reducing the damage from the initial skill. Two bar spells at the beginning of every two fights is preferable to six poisona spells at the end of each one.

Your bar spells are more useful than you think they are. So many attacks and abilities have elemental affiliations.

3) I don't care if we're in a lowbie party in Yuhtunga Jungle or Garlaige Citadel. I don't care how many times you say "It's a low party, it doesn't matter."

Take a minute to set up a skillchain, please. PLEASE. Damage will increase, experience chains will lengthen, and overall party efficiency WILL go up. I'm tired of having a party with four melees using their weaponskills indepently, and hearing"

"Should we set up a SC?"

"Nah i dun want 2 waste time jus g0 l0l"

Not to say you are pointing fingers or anything, but I did attempt to set up a skillchain, and everyone said that it would be a waste of time. I didnt think so, so since Windower shows TP levels next to HP of the different people in PT, I would attempt to throw mine out there 1-2 seconds after I saw someone else ready something. It hit, like 2 times, using Shoulder Tackle or One Inch Punch, but other than that, the damn BLM was uber suckass. >.>

Sorry for crapping your thread. Take it as constructive criticism.

Responding to original message of this thread:

Amen! If a party's going south, you can usually tell relatively soon. It can be because people aren't doing their job, thereby endangering the party and/or ruining experience (points), or it can be because people are at each others' throats, making the entire party a really nasty, unfun pain in the a$$. If it's happening, imho it's party leader's duty to fix it if s/he can - by kicking the people causing problems if need be. No arguments, no nothing, just "this isn't working out, my regrets."
