Seriously, get that shit out of here. If Reeve can't moderate the ads, he shouldn't be hosting them.

These appeared again...not sure if its a good or bad thing.

Ad Block Plus is your friend.

Ads pay for our existance. Though, it would be nice to see some ads that we hopefully want our user's to click and not have the entire base of ads flooded out by IGE and co.

That said, I believe Sculli mentioned a limit on the number of ad cycles QCDN can block. This being long ago, it is possible that limit has been reached. Hopefully Reeve can shed some light on that.

That's when you remove the oldest ones and put in the newest ones.

I leave adblock off completely on my laptop. Part of my job revolves around monitoring various ads and I don't want to accidentally block any of them.

Blocked ads show up as red in AdBlock Plus.

IF you can't fight them, join them. Hey Rappa, for $20 I'll buy some of your gil and let you take a crack at me. C'mon baby, you know you can't resist that kinda money. It'll be you 2 barrels of rice back in China!

I've made forums similar to this. Isn't there an option in Admin CP that allows you to get rid of the ads for just $5?

install this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748

afterwards install this script: http://yokonomi.no-ip.org/files/qcdn.user.js

That script is the same as this one except I edited a little so it only blocks ads for qcdn. If you don't trust it, here is the source, if you make a file called "anything_you_want.user.js", save this text, and drag it into firefox, you get the same result as clicking link above.

If they block all the ads what will happen to the cash cow that is QCDN?

Last time I checked, even us fake admins don't have access to Ad Management.

You can enable/disable ABP on the fly. Click the little arrow beside it's logo, "Enable AdBlock Plus" at the bottom. Logo goes gray when it's off and red when it's on.

The issue is less that they can be blocked and more that they are there in the first place. Over 90% of internet users don't block ads. I know it doesn't sound true but it is. Plenty of those people will be using qcdn too.

The reasons the ads are there has been done to death over and over.

The choice is put up with the ads being there, or close the site.

Yeah, I could bring this up with Reeve but frankly it just seems like a moot point. Does anyone even click on those ads? If they do, they wanna buy gil. I actually remember a game that had google ads things on it that advertised other MMOs on the site. lol Rather amusing if you ask me.

But as for this issue, it's best if you just ignore it.

Where did I say "remove ads from the site?" As someone who runs google ads on a much larger site every day, I think I know a bit about how they work. It's trivial to remove these types of sites, that's why I said "if he can't monitor them".

That defeats Reeve's entire goal, which is to do nothing (or at best as little as possible) regarding this site, while still collecting ad revenue from google ads. That being said, it's entirely possible to have this site going just fine without that kind of ad. It just requires effort to remove them.

Effort.

Reeve.

Yeah.

Since this doesn't seem to apply to anyone other than Reeve, and some people find it extremely distasteful, maybe Rappa isn't the one who should "just ignore it"...
