I don't think this thread will go over well.

*backs away and yells from a distance*

Some are e-bay sales others have websites set up with payment options. All you need is a credit card.

i think kurgon is right... sculli will eventually move this to the flameboard,

scarlette, buying gil is illegal, it is a third party program used to gain an unfair advantage, you can be banned for it

Nope it's been this low for a long time. :?

I really don't think paying someone to deliver gil to your character is against the license agreement.

Other than that, I would suggest to just go with IGE, at least you are sure you get your gil, and their prices are usually low enough to try and push everyone else out of business.

Remember! You aren't paying for the gil, you are paying for the time invested in collecting the gil!

If you choose to purchase gil, so be it.
Like others have listed above, check around online.

I purchased 20k about 2 months ago to see if this whole thing was legit.
upon delivery, I promptly went to san d'oria and gave 5k a piece to 4 new players with "?"'s above their heads dressed in lvl1 taru rags.

Granted, earning gil in this game sucks. However, it is part of the game.
Farming has not only earned me alot of gil, but also lvl'd my archery skill,
evasion etc. etc.
Quest's are also another way to earn gil, and build fame as well.

Buying gil is like taking a shortcut from 3rd grade to college, you learn NOTHING inbetween.

Call me loony but I like farming.

Save your money. Buy a console RPG and in game currency will not be a problem. You already spend 12.95 a month + any mules that you have. To spend anything on top of that makes this game too costly. A good part of this game is about patience, and as you progress in this game, making gil becomes a heck of a lot easier. Just a thought.

Actually, it is against the agreement (but I never read those either :D )

this is from the FINAL FANTASY XI (not Playonline navigator) user agreement:

Article 3: Prohibited Activities and Indemnification
3.1 Prohibited Activities.
You may not use the Game or PlayOnline for any activities that are illegal, fraudulent, or a violation of the rights of any third party. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, the following acts and activities are strictly prohibited and shall, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies that SEI may have, be cause for immediate termination of your PlayOnline account and your right to play the Game (or any other services) in connection therewith:

(a) Any activities consisting of selling, purchasing or exchanging “gil” or any other currency that may be used in the Game from time to time, characters, and/or Game items for value (including, but not limited to, any payment in kind and any payment in any currency recognized as legal tender in any country, state, territory or other jurisdiction anywhere in the world) through any means or venue, including, without limitation, Internet auctions or other online exchanges;

Of course, they are not enforcing the actual penalty, cancellation of the account, but it is definately against the agreement.

One more time: IT IS AGAINST THE AGREEMENT, A CONTRAT WE ARE ALL BONDED TO

But, if you reallt wanna take your chance scarlette, check out this site:

Thank you and have a psychotic day!

But again, if you are not paying for gil, but for service, then you are home free.

Be that as it may.
Some think buying gil takes the fun out of the game, clearly those who buy gil don't agree, and clearly there are many who do buy virtual goods, as the business is steady at the very least.

If someone wants to spend the equivalent of maybe a couple of hours of real world work on something that would take dozens of hours to acquire in game, then that person feels that it would be more fun to get ahead in the game, rather than spend precious time mindlessly farming.
