Okay, lately I've been spending time trying to draw a friend and I've been having problems drawing the breasts. It's not that I'm shy with drawing them or anything it's that I keep making them too big or oddly shaped. Any good tips for drawing breasts? I'm getting rather annoyed with this. <_> I've almost erased through the paper. lol I'd scan it to show you what I mean but my scanner is a PoS and my drawing might now show up cause I've been drawing so lightly.

So if anyone has any good tips for drawing breasts I'd be really thankful.

I tried drawing boobs, it's hard.. :(

boobs are really hard to draw.. When I get home from work I'll jump on msn and explain what works for me when I draw boobies.

You need something called "Skillz" Myrrh.

Sorry, you can't download that. D:

That's how I draw em....don't think that piss-poor drawing can help you, though >.> lol

But basically, after I draw the general "skeleton" of the woman, it's alot easier to draw the breasts, they just take their natural place...

Of course, that might be different if the woman is in a different pose...

But really....just two simple curves. Stuff.

The trouble with oddly shaped and over-sized breasts is more than likely due to the angle you're drawing from. A side (side boob LOL) view is simple, you won't screw up...but rotate the body 30 degrees and one will appear closer than the other, which isn't so simple anymore. If you're on such an angle, sketch a rough box for the upper body and another for the lower.

Don't erase your screw-ups. There's a type of blue pencil you can buy from hobby/art shops. I can't remember exactly what it's called, but it doesn't show up on the image when you use a scanner. They're great for rough drafts/skeletons. Although, using the blue pencil is somewhat a step ahead. It's mainly for a draft before ink and colour. I used to use India Ink and Photoshop for colour.

Like Enlenne said, start with a rough skeleton. Just like how she drew the head, I do the same to a degree. I also add lines through the diameter to give a proper proportion of the eyes/eyebrow, nose, lips, and jaw line. The same can be done with each part of the body.

Your best bet for proportions is to research the human anatomy. It really helped me a lot, especially with drawing hands. I'm under the assumption you know where to find some good anatomy anyway, lol. :D

In all honesty, proportion comes with practice. Hence, don't erase your screw ups. They'll show you where you went wrong and give less room for error.

I haven't drawn for years, but I use to be pretty obsessive about it. Everything from basic Mega-man sketches (GREAT for a beginner), Spawn cover art, Tomb Raider <3 fight scenes, to twisted hallucinogenic inspired Alice in Wonderland murals.

could just google human body pics of the female body I find it easier to draw stuff like arms and legs when I look at the body part in question no I dont draw much but still since you're giving an impression of what you see it'd be funny to ask a chic

"May I use you as my model to draw your bewbs?"

/end cheesy joke

but yeah could try that

I lol at everything. :(

My advice has already been pretty much explained. Start with a basic skeleton, then build on from there. It's all about the shading. Keep on practicing and you will be the boob drawing. . . expert?

"Tips" is really not enough for me to help :<

Maybe you could give me more info on what you mean?

(Connection point, size, shape, blah blah)

I've been working with art for about four years, so maybe I can help a little if I know more specifics. D:

lol, was browsing the forum and found this. At first I was like wtf, watch a porn movie or download pictures!

But I guess a more constructive approach would be practice! Seriously, whenever I ask my Art professor for help he basically says just draw. So I guess my overall tip in drawing anything be it breasts, people, objects is start off with a seprate piece of paper and just draw. People usually start with the outline of the subject so look careful at your subject and take your time. Draw lighty for like 1-5mins

If you feel more confident you can move into your better drawing paper. Or just keep drawing until you get a feel of your subject.

Also when I said draw lighty it means so you can still see your lines, but not too dark so its hard to erase off. You basically want to make your outlines soft so you can darken areas that are need later. When you make a full outline of your subject look carefully at which outlines are darker and lighter. (ie which area is hit by light and which are in shadow) You can darken the shadow areas now if you want. Next you can move inside of your subject, or the details. Basically same approach here too; soft lines and darken later.

Anyhoo, I guess my tips in that big long winded explaination would be:

-Take your time. (Are you in a hurry? Take your time!)
-Look carefully at the subject. (I mean you draw what you see, is that hard, probably if you dont draw alot)
-Draw lighty. (You can't start off with dark lines unless you are drawing cartoons)

You will probably hear this a lot from other people, but it takes practice, lots of hours of practice to draw. However drawing is fun, so try to have some when drawing. =p

If all that fails, there is always porn movies for inspiration... o.ob
