I <3 Calvin and Hobbes. I have so many of the book composites of the strips. I doubt I have em all. I should read em again hehe.

He values his privacy, and you're going to fault him for that? I thought the interview was awesome. He's the single writer I'd love to meet just once.

I am thoroughly stoked that there will be a C&H postage stamp from the USPS this summer.

I hated Calvin & Hobbes... being my name is Calvin, kids were always asking me where Hobbes was.

baw. I grew up with people making Star Trek references, and I actually kinda like the films.

I've loved Calvin and Hobbes since I discovered "Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat" in one of my aunts apartments... one of my friends actually bought me that full collection of strips that came out in 05 for that christmas... unfortunately soon after I moved and haven't been able to go through all the boxes yet so I only got halfway through the first book. but every now and then I go over to where I store the boxes and open a couple to look for it.

Exactly.
He's so awesome, yet he keeps all his awesomeness to himself.

To be honest, I'm glad he ended C&H when he did. If he'd kept going, it could have very well turned into a licensing nightmare like Garfield, or a long-running ridiculous strip that used to be light-hearted like For Better or Worse, simply because of its tendencies to use a plot with real development, unlike similar strips like Get Fuzzy or Fox Trot (man, I miss me some Fox Trot).

By the way, he totally looks like Calvin's dad, and I think I remember reading that he either based him (Dad) on Watterson himself, or on his own dad, from the Tenth Anniversary Book.

My dad owned a great deal of C & H comics (Like 5 or 6 thick books filled with them) a while back when I was in elementary school, and I inherited them. I read them on a constant basis during class throughout 5th and 6th grade and could always relate to the comic strips in some way or another. I definitely plan to keep them close, and give them to a child of mine one day so that they can do the same. =)

I have a C&H tattoo, so it's a safe claim to say I enjoyed the comic a tad. =)

LICENSING VIOLATION.

Prepare to have your arm sawed off after I call Universal Features Syndicate to report this IP theft!

I have 98% of the books >_> I think I'm only missing a few of the smaller compilations, lol. I love Calvin and Hobbes.

My favorite strip that had me absolutely in hysterics was when, while taking a bath, he hopped out of the tub and became Godzilla. Then ran about the house mother-naked, going RAWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRR. It still makes me laugh.

So you like watchin little boys run around naked eh? ;) jk Morwen

C&H is the best comic strip I've ever read, and I hope my daughter also enjoys reading them (I have a decently sized collection too).

My favorite Strip is when Calvin's dad is looking for his, I think Tie and Glasses, then Calvin walks up with his hair like his dad's in the tie and glasses and says "Calvin go do something you hate, it builds character" and the mom is laughing hard in the final panel.

I don't blame him keeping to himself. I have had all of these books since they were first released, my first Calvin and Hobbes book looks so tattered.

I'm a huge fan of him and Gary Larson.

Whenever I see this decal on cars..reminds me how much I missed the actual comic strip and how unfunny the decal is over a decade later.
