Xp party last night, wasn't entirely smooth but we kept the xp going up instead of going down, so it's all good. We started in Kuftal but there was a non-stop parade of gilsellers coming through and they kept zoning haunts through our camp. Another xp party showed up right behind us, buffed up, and started fighting mobs literally ontop of our casters. We asked them to move a bit, they backed off a little. We got sick of the haunts and the very long crab fights, and we hiked down to Quicksands to chain ants.
We fight there for a while, then people start to bow out and we have to dig up replacements. A party comes in and sets up in front of us, basically out in the first open chamber. They're going to get aggro and adds like crazy being that far out, so they drag their ant back to where our party is. People are getting silenced and blinded left and right. One or two of us do /says to them that we're camping here and it'll get really ugly having two ants debuffing both parties. No response whatsoever. They continue to fight through our party, in front or behind or in the middle depending on how well they pull the caster mobs in or how much aggro their healer catches.
We replace a member that had to leave, and we have to wait for the replacement to find a tele, get to the desert, hike to Rabao, stock up, do the hokey-pokey, get a bird, chase Catrot Rapido around a while, ride to camp, etc. etc. etc.; all the random crap that people have to do on the way to an existing party. The replacement arrives, we buff up and pull. We've never moved from our camp so we're fighting right ontop of the second party. Then they suddenly start talking to us, complaining about being doubled up with them. We say it's our camp. They say we can't stand around doing nothing for that long. We say they just barged in and never even acknowledged us when we talked to them. We continue to pull mobs, they stand around for a bit and then disband and disperse.

SO... how long can a party stand around in a camp staring at the walls and typing "/sea all 52" over and over before another party is justified in setting up shop ontop of them?
It can easily take an hour to get a replacement committed, geared up, in zone, and buffed up for the first pull. I've had people hike out of the bottom of KRT for parties in Altepa, it's not a quick process. Let's put aside the issue of replacements, a full party can take 10+ minute breaks where everyone just stands around healing up. So how do you as a newcomer party decide when to assert yourself?
Things people could do:
-> "Are you using this camp? If not, we'd like to."
-> "Could you move up so we can both share this space?"
-> "If you guys are still standing around in 10 minutes, we're taking your camp."
-> "Hey fuckheads, shit or get off the pot, now."
Pretty much ANY interaction is better than just starting up ontop of an existing party. This is sooo much more important when the mobs have really fugly AoE attacks like Jamming Wave. For people to do all this AND piss on the original party for continuing to fight, what are you thinking?
If you ask people something, they just might give you an answer you both can live with. If you tell people you're going to do something, even if they don't like it, they'll at least know why. If you do something that's obviously going to piss people off, then plug your ears and go "La-la-la-la-la", what the hell do you think is going to happen?
