Can I be a switch hitter?

I was trying to see if there was some information about the Thief's dagger. At this time me and my bro and I are farming all high level blm scrolls before continuing our journey to 75. I'm a level 72 Thief and I noticed that when I switched my Thief dagger to my secondary hand that the drops seem to stop dramatically, but I'm not completely sure that is true. The reason I switched is I am trying to break my WS dagger.

When we started we actually we're getting lots of drops of the various type. Once I switched I assumed it wouldn't affect anything and we didn't get any drops for awhile and poof Water IV. Before we recieved pretty close together Waterga II and Waterga III x 2. Once I switched back it was the same of a dry spell.

So anyone have any ideas?

You are mistaking luck for results. It doesn't matter which hand it is in, it just puts a TH-status on the mob and the dice are rolled from there at the drop tables.

nah I think I understand the TH and the ability it's self it's just I saw a big difference after switching so I was wondering if off-hand actually didn't work. I know for somethings it does like Joytoy, but I didn't see anything for TH on the dagger.

Either hand effects the TH
it's a shitty dagger damager wise/DoT which is why it's generally second handed and would therefore not be efficient to use as a primary weapon.

Thanks I just wanted to farm as I unlocked the ws dagger now I will probably keep it off hand the majority of the time but I like thf/rng now so back to main hand for the time being :drooling:

That, and the scrolls are rare. So if you both have waterga3, and another one drops, it won't even show up in your treasure pool.

One thing I have noticed is the people who think TH3 is hardly noticable or pointless are the people who off hand it. I myself have have noticed drops increase when mainhanding only, but again no tests can be done due to the complete randomness of it. Make up your mind for yourself.

If you were just going to be farming, mainhanding thief knife just isn't efficient enough to even deserve the possibilities of it being one or the other. Especially if you are soloing, mainly EM+, you're going to need -good- DoT and daggers that augment further attributes are very nice in your primary weapon.

hey I used a blau/thf knife for EVERYTHING on thf since I only used thf for farming and didn't have a second good dps dagger(I'm not camping another stupid weather NM)...
now I use this little gem mainhand with blau off hand, unless I'm fighting something I really want TH4 for.

will probably try for something better at some point but definately seems to get the job done for my soloing and great for my first try.

Wow that's a nice dagger.. too bad my character isn't around to see it.
