Can you go to jail for not doing community service?

Well i don't know any lawers or police officers so i was wondering if someone here might know the answer to this.Can you go to jail for not doing community service?.I was suppose to do 40 hrs like 2 months ago but unfortunately got busy with exams etc and didn't do it (Also never woke up on time for it).I was wondering if i can go to jail for that? i plan to do that when i get back to campus after summer but was wondering if i'd get in trouble now.Like go to jail for 20 days like paris hilton or someshit? cuz in that case i'd go back to campus now n do it lol.

If it's court ordered then Yes, I believe so. If it was something else then no.

If it's a court order and you refuse to do it you can go to jail on contempt of court charges.

Yea was a court order.Fck now i duno what to do cuz the community guy says he can't let me work for him since the deadline is over.I guess i gotta find a place that lets me do community service n do some extra hrs >> bring that back to the court n say i'm sorry for not doin it on time?

Contact the judge (or sheriff), they are usually understanding when other events pop-in. It will not hurt you to ask for some help or an extension.
