Sounds kinda neat:
Melodis, a company based in Silicon Valley, launched its new music search website Midomi in beta version on Friday. The site allows visitors to hum, sing, or even whistle their favorite tune, and the engine recognizes and searches for the song title. The website is said to identify the song for the user in as little as 10 seconds.

Then a user comment at the bottom:
In UK hold phone up to speaker, dial 2580. And you get an SMS back with the song title.

It is quality. www.shazam.com

Seems to get even underground dance music too!

Seems better than this method. However it is interesting.
Anyone used either of these?

Meh, it's a cool idea but pretty worthless unless the song has no lyrics. That's about the only use I can think of for it.

Otherwise you can Google whatever lines you can remember from the song, add "lyrics" to the end of it and Ding! chickens done.

That's usually how I find song names, but there's the rare occasion where the artist is talking faster than Busta on speed with a chainsaw at his gonads. Or as Ryuoho said, songs with no lyrics.

Like that background music from the Fox... I never even knew that was a real song until I started listening to other stuff from the artist.
