What the crap is this? Please, someone tell me I'm just retarded and don't know how to properly block someone. Hellstorm can't even spell his own name, so I see no reason why he should be a moderator of anything. Normally it's easier to just skip over his posts, but lately it's become 10 pages of idiocy and I'm tired of it.

He's a mod of one of the private forums XD Oh lawdy there goes everyones ignore list defense.

I seriously pity anyone under his leadership. Change it to someone else so the rest of the forum can have some peace of mind!

As much as I shouldn't be saying this out loud...I am highly considering it. <_<; This is so gonna come back and bite me in the ass. /._.\

Eh, It is going to take a major act of maintenance, but I think when 3.7 makes it, if that ever happens -- that ignore problem is one that will also be solved.

This user is on your ignore list. Click here to view this post.

In before "I didn't see the mod warning me because he was ignored." =P

Really though, as nice as it'd be to ignore some people, is there really a point in the feature since you'll be seeing people's responses/quotings of said annoyance in most cases?

I don't, some people do. It is a feature that should be available where possible though, so we are trying to figure out how to make it happen. (To be able to ignore the linkshell mods that is.)

I'm not sure how easy/difficult it'd be but perhaps there's a way to change it so that specified-area mods can be ignored but "full" mods can't? Sounds simple enough but with the way php works, I dunno.

One would think, from reading these boards, that it requires some sort of monumental, Herculean effort to 1) see User X's name on the left hand side or bolded in the quoted text boxes and 2) completely skip over anything that user has to say or any replies to that user.

It's very hard. Not only that, but it's a little known fact that Hellstorm posts have a gravitational field so powerful, that people who read them have their cursors drawn to the reply button against their will. Not only is it completely impossible to not read a Hellstorm post, but it's equally impossible not to reply. At first, I thought most people just had no self control. I was wrong. There are powers greater than each of us at work, here. The QCDN majority might have numbers on their side, but Hellstorm weilds the power of science, itself. You have to read his posts and you have to reply. Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

The huge flaw with ignoring is that if someone ignores one person's post but happens to read something that's in reply to it, they're generally bitten by curiosity and want to see what incited the reaction.

That's their choice and they have no grounds for complaining if they chose to read it. I already know beforehand that everything Hellstorm says is utter garbage, therefore any reply to him will be infinitely better by default and there's no need for me to even bother reading it, much less what the reply was to. It's much easier to just move on to the next post. I compare it to watching a television show or movie that has commercial breaks. I get involved in the story (thread) and an interruption occurs (post of idiocy), I mute the tv (skip over idiocy) and pick the story back up when the commercials are over (find the next intelligible post).

So what you're saying is that it's okay to spam the forums with moronic shit. Good to know. From now on I'll spam every thread with 4+ posts per page and all they'll say is how much I like beef jerky. Since you can just ignore me, it doesn't matter, right?

If you looked in the Necrosis thread, you'd notice it's kinda hard to skip all of his retarded posts. Around the end when he was trying to defend his idiotic ideas behind his 'battle mage' he would be getting at like 5+ posts a page. That's like watching a tv show with a commercial ever 30 seconds, it's just to much to skip over.

Not to mention it's a hell of a lot easier to skip over when the posts are only a single line rather than however big he actually made them. So not only are you ignoring them, you're fast-forwarding past them if you have them on your ignore list. Plus, if he never says anything remotely intelligent(and he doesn't), there's no reason to NOT have him on ignore since you won't be missing out on anything by never seeing any of his posts.
