Well, I've tried calling SE on this, but their tech support is horrid.

After I installed, and registerd the expansion last Wednesday I haven't been able to get the update that follows it. While preparing the update it locks up at 48%, each and every time. I've attempted it no less than 10 times.

When I spoke to SE they kept saying it is connectivity problems on my end. I'm on the same router that is shared by two other PC's. My room mate got his entire update on the same network I use. We also had a friend do an update from my very same connections with his PS2, and he had not problem.

Now SE is stating that it might be a problem with the files on my PS2, and they don't support that...worthless.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm guessing you're using Windower. Try updating it without Windower on and it'll most likely work :p

He is using ps2.

He didn't mention that in his post. I had the same problem while I was using Windower, and then I loaded it normally without Windower and it worked.

There is a problem with resinstalling everything. My drive isn't reading most games and movies anymore. I could uninstall everything to find that it doesn't read a disc that I need to reinstall it. I might just be screwed, but if anyone has any other suggestions....

If not, there will be several million worth of gil and equipment passed off to my LS, because there is no way in hell I'm getting another PS2. They don't even sell the old model anymore so I would have to get a refurb, and resinstall all the hardware, and software. This sux guys.

His edit was also 30 mins before your post.

it didn't say that when I posted, 'cause I read through the post 2 times looking for PS2 -.-; Besides, there's no need to come off as an ass when I'm trying to help.

For the record, it did say it, however I think that is moot. The edit I made was to the title of the thread.

Still having the problem after trying several of SE's suggestions. I still have a few more things to try out though. I assume no one else has come across this problem...sigh.

When ever it gets to dat file 85 it locks up. It used to be located at 46%, but is not locking up at 94% on the very same file. I've tried reinstalling both POL, and the expansion with no success. I might end up having to reinstall the entire game, and possibly my HDD.

Any suggestions would still be appreciated.

Do you have a friend with a working PS2? You could swap the drive out and reinstall using the working optics.

If the HDD is the problem, you're probably stuck.

What times of day are you trying at? I've had situations in the past where an update would keep dumping part of the way through and would work later. Maybe try it at a time of day where traffic might be lower? Granted, it's been a while since I've run into that problem and I can't remember it happening since switching to the PC version.

Thanks for the feed back!

I haven't thought of swtiching out the hard drives. I just happen to have a friend with one that just cancelled his account. I haven't tried reistalling mine, but that is because I'm afraid my crappy console won't read the install discs.

I've tried the d/l at all times of day. At least 20 seperate occasions now.

I'll diffently use swapping the hard drives as an option, hopefully I won't have to go to that extreme.
