This is a rather odd question as most nins would have eva capped as they ding for most levels, but I level synced a lot and was not tanking for the past 5 or 6 levels, so I'm about 25 levels under capped.

how would you recommend I cap my eva without just getting beaten around in a meripo for hours on end?

I capped evasion on thf against the black mandies in den of the rancor. just stack up your defense and -% damage taken gear it shouldn't take too long, maybe get some parrying well you're at it too.

that's actually a really neat idea, you could get a pocket healer and just camp at the zone to uggalepih. That's how I did shield skill way back in the day too, thanks a bunch

74->75 I just did steelshells in the tree; it was weird, it capped entirely off misses, didn't bloodtank at all.

I just farmed the Goobue on the top floor of the tree to cap mine a while back.

Not like it's much, but side bonus of a little 7k lumber.

I capped mine on steelshells as thf/dnc using that double attack sword from sea (forgot the name). You could easily do it as nin/dnc without using shadows fighting steelshells.

between leveling NIN and THF mine just capped. I just kinda let it happen. Now if only Parry was so easy....

I wanted to cap my evasion on THF so I did Steelshells in Boyada and Mandies in Den of Rancor. It worked, but it's very slow, they both hit relatively hard (you can get EM crabs, but skillups are slower) which caused lots of downtime. I ended up just capping skill in merits which was a lot easier.

Which brings me to wonder, why bother? If you join merits or at least farming events (sea, sky, etc.), you can get two tasks accomplished at the same time. It really will not impact you significantly in merits because with cannons, you should be trading hate regardless. If its farming, you'll be fighting T-VT mobs anyways and most of those are fought cannon style as well.

Eva is pretty easy. Just be happy your not trying for parry or guard.

Go jump on Dolls in SKY near a zone and youll cap evasion easily, things get nasty or the goto blow up on you just zone.
