Howdy all,

An LSmate posted a thread in our forum notifying us all that there's a new hack out, which allows the user to purchase items from bazaars without taking the gil from the buyer's bank.

His friend had a Scorpion Harness in Batallia Downs bazaared for 5m+. It sold, and he received no gil.

I haven't seen the hack myself, but I believe my LSmate's word. Just a notice to anyone bazaaring multi-mil items... hopefully, if SE discovers this, there will be another emergency maintenance soon. Until then, you may want to remove any expensive or advertising-signed items you have up, if only for safety's sake.

If anyone does discover that their bazaar has been raided, get the name(s) of the buyer(s).
 
That is a very clever trick. I'm somewhat disappointed in SE. This kind of stuff should be controlled server side which eleminates any chances of hacking. We already saw the result from them leaving player movement player side. Guess we should have seen this coming given the bazaar bug for changing jobs. That must be done player side as well.

I foresee a new influx of hackers decompiling FFXI just to see what they can exploit next - and if it becomes widespread enough... what is SE going to do about it? Granted, many of these were already known hacks that some bored NA player got sloppy with and leaked to others - but if there are problems this large, what else is there to find?

This is getting old fast - God SE is so retarded... SE's incompetence will yet bring this game down, not the sellers - although they go hand in hand.

Might they fix the problem?
Or...worse yet
Will they have to enforce ToS -.-?

Stay tuned to future unplanned maintenances and "patches" as well as the ambiguous "Third party DDoS attacks"

Actually, sellers are a minor reason the game is going down the tubes. SE could easily make it not be that Gil > Everything else, but they rather "try" to block gil selling, WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE.

In a town they might have some connection but out in the leveling areas they are on their own.

there would be a TON of missing Osode's, PPC's, Strider's Boots, E. Swords, ect.

either show me screen shots, or show me the hack itself, until then, i call bull shit.

all i've heard thus far are rumors, nothing concrete.

You'd have to be able to afford the things first.

You can't even bring up the option to buy something if you don't have enough gil.
 
I'll put a few bolts in my bazaar if someone wants to try this and take a screenshot. Surely all of you can afford a stack of holy bolts...
 
the jap are very smart, well the hacker/cheater side.. they showed us there brilliant but wrong program's in the past.. so I wouldnt doubt this, im always on the move though.. and never sell anything worth over a mil in my bazaar.. so im good.. lol ^^;

(yes, i sound noob~ish, but w/e)

i've seen a few hacks here and there, i just dont know a whole lot about 'em all.

the leader of my buddies Dynamis LS was banned for 3 days for using the "job-change hack". ( was actually really funny. he used it to 'try it out', thought it was impressive, logged off to delete it cause he didnt wanna get banned, and couldnt log back in, lmao)

the speed-hack i've seen was interesting, the user could change his movement speed at will. nifty for getting from place to place i suppose, but nothing spectacular.

why is it that SE did this 'emergency' maintenance for the job-change hack, but the speed hack gets so little attention?

Changing your job on the fly, thus refilling HP/MP whenever you wish is far more gamebreaking than getting places faster.

you are entirely correct about the refilling of HP/MP, but increased movement speed has more abilities than just moving around.
Example:

you engage a mob
while fighting the mob you move out of the mobs line of sight
the mob cant 'see' you, and gives chase.

using this example, lets say i set my movement speed to roughly the speed of flee. if i engage a mob, and run to the right or left while targeting the mob, i move fast enuf that the mob cant see me, and has to turn. I now have the ability to fight any mob i chose (provided it has no AoE) and never risk taking damage, because i will never be in the mobs line of sight. ya, not as impressive as instantly refilling hp/mp, but still an advantage that merits some attention.
also, think of the advantage this would give any player camping NM's. imagine camping Leaping Lizzy, the Valk. Emp (or anyother wide-area NM) against a man with WideScan, and the ability to run as fast as Cactaur Rapido (or however you spell his damn name.)

anyways. i dont mean to turn this into an arguement (and i thank you for pointing out what i missed in my haste, the job-change hack DOES have a larger impact on the game <i just never thought of it that way, lol>), but the speed-hack has been around a HELL of a long time as far as i can gather, yet SE hasnt bothered correct the issue entirely, yet they obviously should have the ability to do so, as they demonstrated with the job-change hack.

You do realizes mobs only turn slow because you move around them slowly right? Otherwise they just whip right around. do some hatebouncing, theres no missed attacks on their part from "turning." Also if you don't lock on, you can whip around in any direction aswell. Turning isn't despotic, it's merely just there because you think it is.

possibly....everyone knows the guy in jeuno that has been trying to sell that damn KC for months now. he would be the first person i target with a hack like this
