Changes to Experience Acquisition

The next version update will bring the following changes:

-Chain Bonuses in Level-Restricted Areas
Currently, when fighting in level-restricted Chains of Promathia areas, EXP chain bonuses are determined by a player's actual level. However, after the version update, bonuses will be determined by the player's level within the area. This means adventurers will soon be able to earn extra EXP by defeating multiple enemies that are "even match" or higher, just as if the player was fighting in a regular area.

-Slight Adjustments in Experience Acquisition
The player will soon be able to earn experience from monsters of a slightly wider level range than previously possible. As a result, experience points earned by defeating "decent challenge" and "easy prey" monsters will slightly increase.

i guess we well see promy exp party then

Wow thats kinda cool actually lol

People laughed at me when I said make Prom statics, BUT WHAT NOW HUH?!

Actually I'm stoked about this. My Thief can solo easy prey and decent challenge just slapping on some random gear there. Add to the xp I get from those mobs and get rid of the cap... hell yeah.

This will be a really nice way to level subjobs with ease and also jobs that face low demand later in the game.

Things to consider:

- Warrrior are still as good as a Ninja or a Paladin at tanking IMHO at 30.
- Dragoons utterly rock in the earlier levels.
- Armor that makes mobs intimidated to you. *Shade Gear* <3
- You can take your best friends to static reguardless of level!
- There are multiple level capped promethia areas. The three krags alone would provide ample room for many xp parties.

Edit- Forgot another thing. ENM is 3k xp. Before breaking pt do the ENM and use your 2HRs for an extra 3k xp per party session.

Okay, time to static... around 5k an hour and finish the ENM before the end of the second hour:

13k xp in two hours = 6,500xp per hour party.

i think bst well like this more ^^
*edit*
i wonder if this give birth 2 or 3 man party *if you can make more then 1k exp per hour* ?

I like the experience change on the EP and DC mobs - gives soloing and farming a little perk.. especially for earlier levels when you're going from 1-15.

I too enjoy faming EP and DCs. I like the buffer of exp, and it keeps things a little more interesting. If I get a little more experience, I will not complain one bit. :D

Glad to see the change in the level restricted area.. It only makes sence to give equal exp for everyone who is participating at the same level.

Not to toot my own horn here, but WAR/MNK is probably the best tank (as far as holding hate goes) until 37 when NIN gets :Ni and PLD gets Flash.

Well, I guess it isn't tooting my own horn anyways; at lv30 I was WAR/WHM. Once, only once in that entire 30 level stretch did someone tell me that I should choose a different sub. I thought the guy was an idiot...

The EP-DC exp boost is gonna rule for those low jobs, killing random crap in Konschtat / La Theine while LFP. I'm getting pretty hard for this update now.

I AM BEASTMASTER. ...and I am drooling...

...assuming I read this correctly...

Why? Surely you don't fight DC or EP as a bst, right? And it's only a "slight" increase in xp. Unless you plan to sit in a level capped area to xp all day?

There is one other thing to consider about leveling in Promy:

When you kill a mob in a level-capped area, you get either the exp it would yeild at your current level, or half the exp it would yeild at your capped level, whichever is highest.

Example: Your uncapped level is 32. You kill a level 32 mob. Since you're capped at level 30, that mob was T to you. So, the game decides whether half the exp you'd get at your capped level or the exp you'd get at your uncapped level is higher, and uses that for the base exp. A 32 killing a 32 mob would give 100 base exp. A 30 killing a level 32 would give around 140 exp (not exactly sure). Half of 140 is 70. 100 is the higher of the two, so you get 100 exp.

Now, if your main job was 60 uncapped and you killed the same mob, you'd be getting 70 base exp - the mob would be TW and give no exp to your uncapped job.

The only thing that this update changed was make it possible to get exp chains regardless of your current uncapped level - previously, you had to kill mobs that were EM or higher to your uncapped level in order to chain.

Sorry, but your dreams of a permenant camp in Promyvion won't work out quite right. Sure, you can keep leveling all the way to 75 without ever leaving, but it won't be in 5k/hr parties, more like 2k-3k/hr parties.

I WANTED to say, "I looked at your sig and no beastmaster so you don't
understand." But you killed that by actually being a bst. Heh.

Yeah, I'm drooling if this implies what I THINK it implies. It's a new
opened place for bsts to duo, trio, or solo. (level capped)

On second thought, I don't think it is what I think it is. I'm rereading it
and it sounds like all will get exp from mobs at the level 40*** mark.
I don't know. It's too soon to see what the implications are. I will just
pop in and see for myself.

***edit level 30 mark, if you are in a prom crag.

So it'll be like Ranperre's Tomb! All right! And yes, this is good news for BSTs who can't find EM+ mobs to fight, and have to settle for killing DC mobs that can pop as EM/T. Happened to me last night in East Altepa, all my spiders popped DC :(

I was getting all hyped that I could restart BLM again and just play with close friends and still level.

It's just chain bonuses people.

One big thing everyone seems to be overlooking is skillups. Sure you can xp your level 52 jobs in Promyvion if you want to, but you sure as hell won't be getting any skillups. Every time you ding, in order to keep weapons capped you'll have to go back to a non-capped zone and skillup while xping, or you could just stay uncapped for a few levels and suck ass, or have to constantly join skillup parties. Doesn't sound like much fun to me. I guess you can start in uncapped zones then after you cap finish xping to the next level in a level capped zone, but that seems like unnecessary overhead.

As a BST, this seems even worse in-that axe skill is really important when you are xping as it helps provide damage and accuracy.

Actually, that's not quite how it works....

The experience you get is calculated on you're capped level, but you then take a penalty based on your level compared to the capped level up to a maximum of 50% (but if you are a L75 in a L30 zone you'll take the maximum 50% hit which does cut the 140 exp to 70.....). Chains are based on you're actual level though so you'll currently never get a chain in Promyvion as a L75, and that's what is changing.

One thing that is often overlooked though, is that the sliding penalty that's applied, only affects "Experience". If you happen to be gaining Merit points, you'll still get the full 140.... so Meriting in a capped area will become viable....

Are you sure of this? That would be great still.

Color me unimpressed. Who the hell WANTS to XP/Merit off of Empty/Fomors/etc?

I personally wouldn't want to make a promyvion static party thingie. Why? Because you can't build Conquest Points in Promyvion zones. They aren't part of any region so no one can control it.

The Aqueducts however, is another story :D
