Changing Sky NM to ex/ra

The first of several redeeming acts rests comforably on my
left hip or in my right hand. The joyuse, I camped Chardy
for a week straight getting ToDs, sometimes I had help
sometimes I didn't. Luck shined on me one morning
Chardy, spawned and was unclaimed for the time
it took me to go from Sandy to SSG.

Durring my week long stay in SSG I made friends with some
of the RMTs out there. No one was online to assist me
save for the new friends I had made. I joined a party with
Large and a NA bard, we fought.. I died. We killed Chardy,
I got the sword. For his time and trouble I handed
Large (Zhang fei) 2million. We parted company and
when I arrived back in Jeuno one of Zhang fei's puppets
asked me to come to him, I did and he returned the money
and would not take no for an answer.

Since that day and that incident I call them friends
and have camped along side of them. Sometimes I am
rewarded sometimes I am not. I have even brought
other NA players to camp with us, all of whom have
said they rather enjoy the laid back stress free camping.
I guess in the end it comes down to who wants to be
friends with who.

So in essence, they gave you an item they couldn't sell, and returned the gil you offered them for time they'd have spent camping whether you were there or not? If you'd been after a Juggernaut(the Holy Grail of axes, to those non-axeophiles out there), do you think you'd have received the same treatment?

Excuse me for saying so, but if you had to rely on RMT for a camp like that, perhaps you've chosen poorly in those whom you consider your "legit" friends. Or conversely, did you go there alone intentionally so as not to bother others for something that perhaps the RMT would be willing to part with? Were there other campers there? If so, do you have any idea how opportunistic that makes you look?

I'm sorry, but if it comes down to whom we choose as our friends, I'd rather get by with a more honest crowd. I'd rather stick my neck out for people who never have a need to offer anything as reward but gratitude and loyalty.

To put it more bluntly, I'd rather associate myself with people that stand no chance of ever getting me labeled as someone so low as to go out begging table scraps from the RMT.

EDIT: Having re-read your post, I think I've got a clearer understanding of the example you gave. I'm leaving the original text in place in my response and simply adding that if I'd been in your circumstances, I'd have just been getting another ToD or hoping that some of my friends happened to pop online fast enough for the fight.

Normaly I would have just gotten another ToD
but when this all happened I was nearing the window of time
where I wouldnt be able to get ToDs any longer.
(College was starting soon)
Yes, there were other campers there, a crew of JP
from the same Linkshell standing around looking at it.
It popped, I was in Sandy, it remained unclaimed and unengaged
untill I made my way to SSG. The bard that assisted in the kill
agreed to work with us if he could have lotting privilages
he and I both lotted, I won and then I returned at the
next spawn with several NA friends that were online
to assist in the camp for him. (Large/Zhang fei was not online at the time)

Stress free because Large has one of the best claiming bots on our server, so you don't need to worry about claiming lol.

If i had his bot in my party I'd just spam /assist <botter> and watch tv while doing so.

Yep have to agree. While there are plenty nice rmt out there. Majority of them are still cheating. It not nice to cheat.:cool: Im not one to go mpk and I have had conversion with few rmt, most them where nice that dont mean I help them because that whould be like helping the enemy.

Nah cause when you're poor and in a country with a bank generally theres a homeless shelter and free food ect.

RMT tried to mkp a party my mule was in last night with a rabbit in valkurm dunes probably because our leader said they werent gonna invite him cause he was rmt.

With all the people going "gilsellers are our friends" and actually being serious lately my sarcasm detector is slightly broken.
 
That gilseller Mithra that camps Shoreleaper help me fight Chary one time, we wiped, and as we were raise some Fucking Japanese Guys ran in and stole the claim Ive never beeen so pissed,

But that mithra helped me casue i helped her with shoreleapers wyvren,

To this day i havent been back to SEa Serpents Grotto but i may make the venture pretty soon.
 
"Stole" the claim from a wiped group? Do you really expect everyone to watch over you and cheer you on as you wipe repeatedly on a popular NM? Get real...

If you wipe, you've had your fair chance. Saying someone "stole" it after you're all dead is fucking weak.
 
OK so situation JP ls sees when camping chary.
A: Some other group wipes thusly proving them unworthy of the reward from killing that particular chardy.
B: Theres a gilseller in that group. First thought is that guy musta payed them for it or those bastard gilsellers are gonna try and charge us for it.
C: It's a gilseller and associates claimed NM. That fact alone means 99% of the server would have stolen it from you (and many other things)without feeling any remorse whatsoever.
 
Bringin this topic around full-circle, I had an idea on Sky NMs last night. It occurred to me right after several LS mates of mine witnessed Stupidrainbow "MrArgus" his team to an Ulli claim(Did we report them? Yes. Will it accomplish anything? We'll see.)

What if . . .

Ullikummi spawned claimed from one of the dead statues, a la Chariotbuster Whatsisface in Fort Ghelsba(really takes ya back, don't it)?

The way I see it, this gives everyone present a truly fair shake, as in, it doesn't allow anyone to stand around idle, and none of the hacks I'm aware of will really help you kill PHs any faster.

I'd love to hear others' thoughts on this, since I'm really considering trying to petition SE with it. Pie in the [sky], I know, but with how that camp's been lately, something's gotta give . . . seriously . . .
 
I have my doubts as well, but if the rumor about Large and Maty getting banned is accurate . . .

Yes, hope, because SE banning 5-10 RMT a year while 20-30 new ones appear every month in Korroloka Tunnel really is a big step in the right direction.

Edit: If some of you still think SE gives a damn about legit players, here's little story. Last week while waisting 3 hours of my life camping an un-claimable Ullik, one of the 2 Galka PLD (Not Euphori, the other, more gimp one) started talking to me. I started talking casually, building a bit of confidence on his part towards me. Then I asked him why he was selling gil for real money. "It is my job." was his answer. Then he added "Lot of people need my gil so I sell it to them." I immediately reported him to a GM. You can't get a better admission to RMT then that. GM said they'd look into it, of course. I asked him if anything was gonna be done and GM answered "depends what I find". As of today, that gimp Galka and his crew are still up there. He litteraly admitted to RMT yet SE didn't do shit. So if you think a petition will do any good, I'd like to still have your innocence.

The only way SE will do anything is if a VAST majority of players quit SPECIFICALLY beause of RMT. That would mean RMT is the cause of a revenue loss, hence the need to take measure. Until that happens and we keep paying our monthly fee, why the hell would they do anything? Even more, they know 95% of those quitting will buy FFXII now anyway so who gives a damn.

SE's GMs are probably the greatest form of incompetence I've seen in any game. RO's GMs have screwed up pretty badly at times but they couldn't come close to the crappiness that is FFXI's GM. I mean jailing/banning people for "Mr Argus"ing to odds spots in Saurumugue/Rolanberry/Batallia when ToAU first came out? Hmmm. -_-
