Changing Sky NM to ex/ra

I agree Ish, the overwhelming majority of GMs seem to be a) incompetent; b) apathetic; or, c) both. It's for that very reason that I believe we need to take the issue over their heads and back to the company that signs their checks.

To Veresko:

Let's look at this from the flip side for a sec. If banning 5-10 RMT creates 20-30 more, wouldn't it just be good business sense to ban more RMTs?

Furthermore, by making the change to how Ulli "pops," it would force RMTs to bring substantially more to the table than they are at present. After all, I've witnessed firsthand their inability to handle links. I've watched them nearly wipe to Ulli from a combination of gimp gear and gimp skill. I've been there when Ulli was stolen from them because they lack the brains to know how to avoid being "tripped" by other shells. I highly doubt they'd be able to kill PHs at anywhere remotely approaching the efficiency of a good shell, let alone make the transition from PH >> Ulli fight.

Regardless of whether or not petitioning SE is an exercise in futility, can you spot any issues with my actual suggestion?

Now, the reason Ulli was made the long spawn time was to slow the pop rates of Kirins, if I remember correctly. So, with this in mind, wouldn't it be fair to rotate the "long" pop NM among each of the four season stone NMs? That way the rare one will rotate every so often. This would take care of the extreme bumfucking at Ulli.

Also, RMT aren't always bad people, they do their job because it exists to do. I'm not defending the job, I'm defending the people. Sure, it's easy for us to say "well find another job" but in some areas, it's the only job they can do to support their families. I don't think they should be allowed in any game, the market shouldn't exist. With any luck this task force will speed up the catching of sellers, but it's SE, probably gonna be a rough call.

Also, back in the day of Stroper Chyme Archer ring camping, I met one of the RMT in joking, he was funny and spoke reasonable english. He even bashed on the other RMT he worked with. Would he ever let me take a claim despite us joking together? No. Did I distract him from his job? Hopefully. Like it's been said before, they'd probably help each and every one of us when their paycheck isn't on the line. Helping with Chary isn't exactly out of their way, or at a loss to them, so they are full willing to help out. Try that at a money NM? They'll claim, or just watch you die trying to kill it on your own and take it. The same is true about most of us though. If I was around someone who needed NM help for something I didn't need, sure I'd give them a hand. If that NM was for cash? Fuck them, all's fair in the fight for gil.

Don't confuse the people with the job ever. I think that's what Sphene was trying to get at in his posts. I wouldn't ever associate with them on regular occassions, mostly because I don't want to be lumped in with people using exploits or pissing off the wrong people, but sometimes they can be fun to talk to when you're camping and nobody else is around. I try to talk to anyone I camp against, sometimes to a selfish means to distract them, sometimes to kill time between pops. I don't distinguish between RMT and players in that respect. If you're friendly enough to talk back, I'm friendly enough to do so as well. It's just how I am.

The Rmt's in sky have deffinatly killed a lot of the fun factor for me in sky, but I'm not going to let some assholes who I've seen personally or heard wipe to Faust twice kick me out of something I love doing. There are currently at least 2 Rmt groups that I know of in Sky. Euphori/Sailingtides group and Keybads group. When it comes to Ulli camping, I've only seen Euphori/Sailingtides groups. They don't even kill PH's. They make Euphori or Sailingtide run out, aggro a statue, then kite it in circles around the teleporter until it loses interest and depops. When we were camping Despot and I was tanking, Euphori kept running inbetween me and the mob, Idk why, but he got a swift slap in the face once it was done though.

I hate the notion of Rmt, but you can't really blame the people. It goes both ways. If someone buys gil, it gives the sellers need to sell. All in all it's about how lazy people are, and the Rmt picking up the slack so the lazy people can just buy the gil, and making profit from it.

It's true that some of them are nice, or "kind" (and I use that word loosely). I remember when I used to do plants and such and farmed the Tree cuttings in Zi'tah. I met an Rmt in that little ally near the boyahda tree and counter camped them. Of course I was verbally abusive, because that person was there 24/7/365. Eventually they got mouthy and talked back saying the only reason I could out claim them was because of Provoke XD (they were a thf/nin, with very, very crappy gear.). Anyways after a while of choice words (she didn't have the greatest english), I started to respect her so I left (the drops were shitty anyways and it was time for bed). I came back the next night and she was there again. We got to talking and she told me how everyone was abusive to her character because she was chinese. I told her that it wasn't because she was chinese, it was because her involvement with Rmt. At that moment she offered to trade with me, and proceeded to fill the trade bars with moss/tree cuttings. I refused it because.. well.. she had farmed them and they were hers. So instead she took me to davoi and taught me the workings of poisonhand and all those other mobs down to the minute of when they pop, their PH's pop, respawn times, and cool things to farm inbetween them. We even claimed posionhand twice, got the drop once, and she told me to lot. I didn't win, but it was still a rewarding experience.

I wouldn't condone any Rmt, I think it's wrong to steal another persons fun and sell it off for a few bucks, but you have to sometimes weigh cheating against knowledge.

But anyways, I would agree to making the Ulli stone R/E personally. If your linkshell is reliable then one or two people can hold the stones. I mean, why would you give a stone or any type of pop item to someone who has a choppy schedule? I know it would cause problems though. SE just needs to remove the bottleneck that is Ulli now that it's player base is older and not so much concerned with sky anymore.
