Feedback Chatbox and New Posts location

Where should the chatbox and new posts area be?

  • Both the chatbox and new posts should be located at the top of the forums

    Votes: 7 23.3%

  • Both the chatbox and new posts should be located at the bottom of the forums

  • The chatbox should be at the top of the forum, but the new posts should be at the bottom

Since I found the hack for the new posts thingy and I figured I'd toss in the good ol' chatbox as well I'd like to take a poll to determine where they will inevitably end up! So please...let me hear your opinions. :)
 
Is there an option for a user to disable chatbox? As long as that option exists, I say leave it at the top since it will probably get more use there.

There's no option to disable it, however it is collapsible. Users can just click on the - in the upper right and it'll basically vanish.
 
I just have 1 question, how long it this going to last this time, lol?

Seriously, don't give yourselves added stress with it eh. I like using it, it's nice to have around to use. I'd say just avoid the yay and nay back and forths we usually have.

This time? Last time it was taken out was basically because of non-use and not too long before we upgraded to 4.0. Did you get banned for being naughty from the last one and forget? ;)
 
Can you change the bg color for nightshift on the new stuff so it can actually be seen... the dark blue with black text doesnt work well.

No you banned me the very first time around lol

Meh, I just know the stresses these small changes causes you at times.
 
It was used, then use died last time. I like the new shoutbox. It's great. Keep it at the top.
 
Yeah, the top seems to be the best place for it since it's collapsible.

Yes, I'm sorry about this. It's pulling...odd background codes for it that don't seem to make sense. My goal today was to fix them up a bit so we could be able to read them no matter what colour people use as text.

I appreciate the feedback! I'm also advocating it stays at the top myself. It seems like a lot more users notice it/use it when it's up there. It's a simple fix for those who don't want it either as the collapse feature does hide it very well.
 
I like it at the top, thought I typically open the full version in it's own tab at some point.
 
I'm hoping to get some feedback here...

There is an option to have the Chatbox collapsible whenever someone visits the site. The problem with that is everytime a user refreshes the site it'll re-collapse it. Now it won't affect the Chatbox full option but it will keep the chatbox out of the way for people who visit the site so it's not the very first thing they see. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? From the looks of things chances are the Chatbox is going to stay at the top and this would be a decent way to find a middle ground for people who don't want it at the top.
 
I don't like it collapsing automatically cause I'll forget about it, same reason I like it at the top. is there a way to set it to remember if you've collapsed it or not?

I'll have to fiddle with it and see if I can make it not keep re-collapsing. :(
 
oh thats why it keep shrinking every time i come back to the site. doesn't bother me just thought it was a glitch or something.
 
i like both bars where they are. I just wish the new posts section would take me to the first "new post" in that thread. I figured it was supposed to do that.
