Since RMT supports terrorists and Google ads supports RMT by placing their ads doesn't that in fact means that Google ads supports terrorists?

You can take it even further...

You see what site supports Google Ads? QCDN. O_O

So therefore we all are terrorists. D:

Derka Derka Jihad anyone?

Actually, if QCDN makes money on clicks to the banners I think we should all click and just not buy anything from them. If they're paying for exposure then that means (doing head calculations) we (at least QCDN) are getting back money from them. I see nothing wrong with taking their money, just giving them money.

Yeah but if Ad Sence realizes everyone's just clicking and not buying, they'll drop service from QCDN and Reeve will need to find another way to pay for QCDN.

Actually, there is no real adopted standard of how to rate advertisement effectiveness on the internet/www. Some sites get away with counting ads even if the user(s) have pop up blockers installed. Click-through is the same. It would be up to the company or google ad sense to decide on effectiveness later. For now, the exposure rates are what count because it is displayed on the site and has equal chance of members seeing it (assuming all that register or view qcdn see the ads... hard to estimate those who do not with ad blocker tools/programs).

There was another statistic that estimates that only the top 5-10?? sites get about 95% of all internet exposure while the other sites (who knows how many, new ones are created everyday) fight for the fractions in the 5%.

On what basis do they make this estimate? (Just curious, it sounds relatively logical, Google, Amazon, etc.)

Again the internet is quite flawed in research because of lack of standards. There are probably ad agencies who are still developing and market research companies establishing many practices and tests for information gathering.

My guess the top sites are google and stuff that the world average uses frequently. Remember placing a website up means potential for global exposure. Also keep in mind that the QCDN audience is only a particular segment of the internet consumer. We engage in activities that are different from the average user (not representative of the average). Another statistic indicates that the majority of the average uses e-mail more than all other opportunities (using a qcdn/myspace area, buying from internet retail is actually very low overall, research on a product). This is why spam mail is popular for trying to reach consumers.

There are many methods different sites and stuff use to count exposure (counters, banners, etc).

Eh, I would probably know more if I had access to a research company's documents if I was being paid and had a paid subscription to do research. ;p

So, basically, Ranpha's answer to Shyrra's question is:

I don't know

lol, Yes! but she provided some useful information as to the survey's actual meaning (Which I pretty much already got <.< But still Ran is cool).

I'm sure she is.

It's 3:57am. I'm gonna go to bed before I pick a fight and end up in bed at 6am. :P

I'm actually a web developer by trade. So when I hear people spouting web bullshit my ears prick. No offense, just that was a lot of fluff.

Can you answer my question then Pako? =(
Maybe tomorrow, but it's 4:04am now... and I can barely even think straight. I'll try to give it a shot in the morning.

No offense though. :)
