I dont know if this belongs here but i was pissed when it happened.

Yesterday I was on at 6pm est to help some of my social LS mates w/ a quest. After this I had to go Sky to farm @ 8pm est w/ my new LS ,CK. I went afk at 7:45pm est b/c of RL shit. When i came back at 8:30pm est i got back on and caught up w/ and started farming. By 9pm est i was talking to someone in my LS and i wanted to show him my str gear and thats when i noticed that 2 of my items werent there. One was my Custom hands lv 29 hume (i forgot the real name) Two was my SH. I know that the SH isnt str gear but that is what i was to help my social LS w/ that quest from earlier. So after i noticed that i told a officer of CK and he told me to call a GM. After i called the GM i had wait of 27 ppl before me. After i saw the wait of 27 ppl I did /shutdown in hopes my gear would come back. I logged back on in less that 2mins and luckly it did. I have no idea how it did but it was there. I told the officer of CK that i got it back he said "cool. Maybe someone hacked into my system." After that GM contacted me and i told him i got my gear back. GM said to have a nice day.

I know there wasnt anyway that i overlooked my gear missing. So guys just becareful and watch your gear.

PS.
I was on windower when it happened. when i noticed i did /shutdown and logged on the right way to ffxi, then my gear was back. I dont know what the hell happened.

Yeah, same thing happened to Tongan when I was giving him BLM gear off my mule. I told him I sent it to the delivery box, and he said he never got it, so I went back and checked to see if I sent it to the wrong person. I quickly hovered over the items (2 Wisdom Rings, Black Cape+1 and Shaman's Belt), and you know how sometimes if you're quick enough, you can see who you sent it to? Well, it had no name underneath it. Was going to contact a GM about it but I had to go... He bought two Wisdom Rings and was going to use a Red Cape and Merc. Captains Belt in the meantime, but then magically, they appeared in his item box.

I'm not sure what happened, either, but I can tell you it would be utterly impossible for Windower to have any effect on your inventory. Windower merely tricks Playonline and FFXI into thinking you're in full screen mode. It doesn't touch anything else.

What's more, details about your inventory are kept server-side, not client-side. If it was possible to make a change like this from software on your own computer, people would be creating their own items right and left.

Are you absolutely certain you didn't simply overlook the items in your inventory? I know you say you are, but the fact that you say it (and believe it) doesn't mean it's true. More than once, I've started to panic because I couldn't find some valuable item of mine I knew was there (say, a piece of AF). Every time, all I had to do was go through my inventory piece by piece, s - l - o - w - l - y, to realize I had simply skimmed over it. Sometimes I have to check three times before I can stop my impatient eyes from jumping all over Hell.

I am a 100% correct that i didnt have it in my inventory and/or my mog.

When i check my equipment i had ONLY my hauby in my body section and ONLY my Thick mufflers in my hands. I checked very well for them everywhere.

I see ur point about that windower tho.

Before anyone calls me on it, I left out Windower's plugin abilities. Aside from that, however, it does nothing to your actual client.

Even if it did, a change like this would still be impossible.

Well, if you actually checked your equipment options for each slot, I don't know what to tell you. Definitely strange.

Sometimes, in situations with A LOT of lag, some equipment takes longer to load than others. I freaked out once when I couldn't see several of my items after I had been D2'd to Lower Jeuno. After about 2 mintutes I ran into my mog house and I had them in my inventory again.

I'd have to say its either
1) lag
2) a glitch in their system

#2 is because every tiem you zone your inventory is loaded, so what I suppose could happen is that some info got lost while sending it or something... I dunno

Either way, the delivery box is a knows problem. GM's normally tells you to wait for as long as 24 hours to get them

My vote is that its lag. I've seen this happened from time to time when i'm bog'd down with lag.

I've had light lags occur the moment I leave my mog house where it states I have no items in my inventory.

Then I recheck, and they are all there. It could be related to something like that.

As for the windower, I've heard lots of strange things can happen when using it. But then again thats with any unsecure unsupported software.

But I truly think its lag related.

Lag gave me 65535 item slots once

i had one time where my moggle disappered in my mog house i could us moghouse via menu but moggle was missing.

someone stole my moggle:shok:

No, he was just selling your stuff at the Lower Jeuno AH

"Master! Master! I weren't expecting you home so early, Kupo!"

Lag does crap like that. There is not many other logical explanations. I sure as hell hope they aint having that kinda glitch server side.

But isn't it wierd that it shows some items? I wish it showed none at all rather than some, because then I'd know something was up.

Lag in Dynamis one time indicated all except three or four items in my near-capped and full Storage space had vanished. The moment I exited the zone, it was all back. Talk about a panic attack...

Lol, I've had the Moogle thing happen to me once. I was like "Where the hell is my Moogle?! He done ran away with my stuff the fluffy lil bastard!" Exited Mog came back in, sure enough there he was. Course...I slapped him around a bit for doing that, but that's beside the point.
One other time I wa sin my Mog House and I did /shutdown and it didn't work. I thought I was going to live .//HACK lol. Typed /shutdown and waited for it to log me out within a few seconds. A few seconds turned into like a minute. At first I thought it was lag..until I was able to type a message and I told my Ls I was stuck ingame lol. Did /shutdown again and it logged me off.
About the Delivery Box issues....it isn't called The Delivery Box of no Return for no reaosn ya know...
