So you're saying the JPs don't mind checking/being checked? If they're cool with checking, then why have I never been checked by a single JP before? Unless you can thoroughly communicate with them, you can't be so sure.

I check everyone besides the JPs w/o bazaar. I don't mind friendly checks, I just dislike hostile checking, like when I run past a NM camp and got like 20 ppl checking me.

The check button is there for people to check others without asking, if you should ask first SE would of made it so you had to ask them and they had to accept it like pt seek. Its here for a reason, and i check without asking. It makes me laugh when people ask me if they can check me. I really dont know how people find it offensive, but ive never had someone have a go at me for checking them, so i assume its all right :wink:

The "invite" button is there for people to "invite" others without asking (sending a /tell), if you should ask first SE would of made it so you had to ask them and they had to say yes or no. :wink:

I use to be in the camp that would say "Yes it is rude." In all my time in game I have softened up in my stance. I never check anyone without asking someone first unless I am leading a party or they checked me first without asking. My basic train of thought is that I know there are people out there that do find it rude so I will ask to be respectful of peoples feelings. If someone checks me without asking I then figure they won't be offended if I check them back. If I am leading a group it is my responsibility to assure that all the members of the party are being given a good shake at having a good exp session so I check gear and if anyone is too behind on equipment I boot them. (Not the best armor/weapons but at least close to level appropriate) Well that is my answer.

I find it funny though that while I am /anon (everyone can tell since my name is in blue) and running around naked except for my weapon farming something I get checked constantly. :lol: Several people have thought me weird though when I'll send them a tell asking permission to check them.

I check people all the time they check me, we are all happily using an ingame function. I get bitched at I will stalk them around the zone spam checking them. That will give em something to bitch about.

I don't really mind if people check me. Unless they do it 5 time's in a row or something XD I only check people if they have armor I've never seen or my friend's. =3

The only thing a player has to get upset about when they get 'checked' is the line in thier chat log that reads: (Namegoeshere examines you.)

Menu>Configuration>filters>'checks' = done.
Note: Now you will never ever even know when someone has looked at you, so now you can drop the whole 'Wtf you looking at noob' attitude and move on with your bad self. :wink:

I have no problems being checked, and the only people I check are usually higher lvl's if they have a gear I recognize as awesome... I wanna see what other kind of pimp gear they're sporting.

Besides that... I usually limit my checks to blm's my lvl and higher... so I can see how my gear stacks up and what gear I should be expected to have later on.

This has already been discussed, so all I see is "blah blah blah YUGIOOOOHHHH blah."

I tend to get checked nomatter what I wear (though in opaline+subligar I get checked much more :wink: ), I pretty much deal with it or do some goofy retort (i.e. blush or /em examines you back, sees nothing special, and moves on.)

For the case that I understand why a majority of people ARE offended, I ask before I check people just because, unless of course they have a bazaar, in which I'll just jump right into it (the bazaar. =P), bow, and be on my way.
