Okay a couple of friends and I have noticed that various random mules have been making Cherry Muffins in Windy and Bastok.

Now considering the skill level of the synth (43-44), the number of items needed to make a single batch of muffins and (six + a key item) and that I've seen these players/mules consistently HQ (I'm guessing a 70% HQ rate?), I'm less apt to believe that this is just a simple skill up session among crafters.

So anyone know what the secret is to these muffin makers? Some quest or hidden effect?

VS

Melon pie
A shockingly good pie made from thundermelons.
Stackable: 12
Food Effects: (30 minutes, All Races)

MP +25
Agility -1
Intelligence +4

Cooking (62)

Yield: Melon Pie x 4
HQ 1: Melon Pie +1 x 4
Fire Crystal
1 x Thundermelon
1 x Cinnamon
1 x Lizard Egg or 1 x Bird Egg
1 x Pie Dough
1 x Maple Sugar

As for the actual cost of ingredients, its not going to be that much of a difference. Of course, the muffins do require Patissier, so if you had that already, it might be worth it. Also, the muffins, while not boosting your INT as much, offers 80 mp capping at 800. That's 55 more mp compared to the 3 more INT the Pie offers. Just something different to throw out there and try. I think a lot of the food we have in game get overlooked by the standardized food items. I ate a Royal Omelette the other day going into Assault, and even the other elvaans didn't realize what the stats it gave you were.

i saw this too.2 mule were pumping them out left and right for a good 20 min i was standing there. would be better for RDM's cause they havew less MP once the % over shadows rolanberry pies.

For BLM, it sucks. You don't need max MP as a BLM, so pies are better. Could be decent for a RDM, though, I guess. Although I'd say Mushroom Stew or Witch Stew are better for exp parties.

Yeah this was my thought exactly. I was checking the stats for the thing shortly after posting. Why would anyone want more MP over more INT, especially since at the levels where one would be reaching the cap, they already be focusing on Magic Attack and Magic Accuracy more than anything else.

Cherry Muffin :
NPC Sell Price: 160~169 gil x4 per synth

Cherry Muffin +1
NPC Sell Price: 374~399 gil x4 per synth

Me thinks that's why lol
I'm going to try it out later > >...

Yeah, I've heard that people synth them and sell to NPC for profit. It's kinda a shame, since they never get put onto the AH because of this. Not so much the Cherry ones, but I'd love to use the Coffee Muffins +1 on my WHM. ;/

if anyone *does* want coffee muffins +1, im gunna be pumping em out ^^ lemme know if you want any. these are pretty fun to make~

I thought about making coffee muffins, but then I saw I needed to do 3 other Alchemy-based synths to get the coffee powder I need. (Coffee cherries > coffee beans > roasted coffee beans > coffee powder). Fuck that noise.
