Chinese government to pwnzor gilsellers?

Yea, this is supposed to limit addicts, not casual gamers.

Most people on all MMORPGs have more than 1 character. The true addicts will just buy multiple accounts and level up each character until their 3-hour session is up on each. Or they will only have 1 account, play it for 3-hours, then switch to a game that is run outside of China ( FFXI, WoW, DAoC etc..) and play that for the rest of the day.

Or they'll just screw Chinese MMORPGs altogether and only play the ones that are based outside of China that don't comply with this 3-hour law.

P.S. Thanks for the links to your different BST gear, helps me out as an aspiring BST :D

"Other games include The Legend of Mir II, The Legend of Mir 3G, Lineage II, Westward Journey Online, Fantasy Westward Journey Online, MU, JX Online, First Myth Online, The World of Legend and Blade Online."

Blade online is on this list, yet FF XI remains at large...

i mean... come on... blade online? might as well put that online matrix game on the list then - -;;

And they better not do that in the US T_T;;

I need to update that XD Still has me at lvl 70, and I switched some gear around.

EDIT and don't believe the stats Alla says I have, those are WAY too high XD My base CHR is actually 69 and my base HP is about 1160 or so, just to name 2 stats lol.

CHinese eh? japanese bigger? o well i bet they have to sweep them out the cafe everynight.

I believe this was established on another bbs but this protocol is only limited to games that have officially opened in China (ie Lineage and WoW.) FFXI never made an official debut in China so the protocol will probably never take effect for it. As Chemical Penguin stated, the logical move would be for people to switch off games. I wonder if this might mean an increase in Gilsellers playing games that never debuted in China. However it is interesting to see the Chinese government take action into this, though one might wonder about the exact cause and reasoning behind the decision.

Among the games affected in initial trials of the system is the MMORPG game, World of Warcraft, which has 1.5 million players in China alone.

Other games include The Legend of Mir II, The Legend of Mir 3G, Lineage II, Westward Journey Online, Fantasy Westward Journey Online, MU, JX Online, First Myth Online, The World of Legend and Blade Online.

No FFXI, so gill sellers might not get screwed over by the chinese, and I thought korea had the most people on MMO's?

Also, I'd love to see what blizzard has to say to the chinese government about them potentially losing alot of intrest from chinese gamers, 1.5 million playing, probably 150,000~200,000 of them stupidly addicted and forced to cut down to 3 hours... That'd probably make me want to quit FFXI during the holidays since I play more than that casually.

Another thing - I'm curious as to how they would monitor such things, would they examine outbound IP activity to well known game servers, or would they packet sniff to see if your ram is having anything to do with games? If it's the previous then you could just make a proxy from a server somewhere not in china and bypass the scanners of the IP.

I would have thought that they would have to work with the game makers themselves to litterally gimp their own games and force themselves to lose out on money.

That's all I can really think of saying, and If I've said something completely moronic in their, don't burn me to shred, it's early in the morning :?

how would they just limit though select few that play in china? I mean if they are playing a game like wow are they just going to say "well my 3hrs are up I have to go" I mean what would happen you loss 999 atk and 999 def because you have been playing to long  imagion playing then all of the sudden the pally dies??? im sorry just lose all my def because I went over 3 hrs play
