I've done three chocobo now.

1) Original first try was yellow.

2) Got a card from my friends black choco, and bred it with mine, got another yellow choco.

3) Got another black card from my friends, and bought a red card in BD because I liked both those colors, and wouldn't mind either. Got ANOTHER friggan yellow choco yesterday.

I don't care what color it is, as long as it's not yellow. Has anything been found to determine the color, or is it just random even taking the parents' colors into account?

And can you breed two at once, or would you have to give up and start again?

don't feel bad I know your pain I have bred about 8 birds now all yellow. Had friends even give me 2 cards of teh same color still yellow.

Your best bet is to breed together two chocos of the desired color (I'm rusty on genetic traits in general, but I think it may be better still, if for both of them, each of their *parents* was also the desired color). Even then it's no guarantee, but it's better odds than desired color + other color, or desired color + yellow, and certainly better than yellow + yellow or a random new egg from NPC/ISNM.

yea you should breed it with someone who has a choco that is a different color.
I've been lucky once and I actually got a black chocobo out of an egg. The other's were crappy yellow.

I didn't even use mine the 3rd time. I used a black and a red card, and still got yellow. I mean something should be written into the game where the choco gets at least one of the parents colors.

I just gonna try two of the same color this time.

I have a blue male chocobo who's parents were both blue. The father was bought and turned blue, and the mother had one yellow parent and one blue parent. The father of my bird also was bred to a regular yellow bird and the offspring was blue.

I also have a green female who's father was my blue male and the mother was a green female I bought from a bazaar, so I don't know what her parents were. However, my girl turned green when I bred them, so it's a strong chance that one of mother's parents was a dominant green.

Let me know if you'd like a card. Neither of them have any abilities, however I am working on making the green female a first class physical bird with gallop and canter abilities, if you'd like to wait for a coloured bird with an ability.

Chocobo Dyes. They only show your chocobo colored when you ride it, not during any cutscenes. And really, since color is only cosmetic, thats the only time it matters. Plus they last forever.

I will take any colored cards at this point I dont care what color as long as it isnt yellow

Well I was just about to quit, and start over with a new choco, but when I went to take it for one last walk.

Hey Aaleel,

I have a black female.

Day 58:
Strength: First Class
Endurance: Impressive
Discernment: A bit deficient
Receptivity: Poor

Abilities: Gallop

I still haven't gotten the Story of a Curious Chocobo for Canter yet. Stupid Brutus keeps avoiding me. I have about 7 days to get Discernment to Average and Endurance back to First Class before my Chocobo starts slowing down on it's attribute levels.

Once I'm done with her, I'll give you her chococard.

Wow nice, and yeah they say its like 30% chance of getting a colored chocoho, like what others said here you have a better chance of getting one with breeding two colors together.
