Chocobo Raising

For the record... if there's a Boco on the name roster, IT'S MINE LOL

That is all lol.

If there isnt a Boco on the name list, SE needs to be pimped-smacked.

someone get a black chobi for me ^^

I'm on top of it. The Blm with the Black Chicken. I hope he has red eyes.

This would be so awesome if it worked like a NPC. They better give Dragoons, Samurais and Warriors with Chocos jousting Tournements. Those are the only jobs with spear skill, no?

Wonder who gets new chocobo if you mate yours with a friend ;x

It probrably would go to a pre determined area when it hatches then i guess you go to court and fight for custody?

The need to be smacked for a lot of things so i think i will form a all rdm ls for that

when i hit 60 of course^^

Maybe I'm being rationalistic here to where I'm really not thrilled here but, what gain do you get from raising choco's? Can you call them like npcs?? Increased riding time? better digging results? Reaching previously inacessible areas?

I expect at least at first that the Chocobo Circuit will be pretty much the only place you'll be able to make any sort of use of your choco, and that it'll be handled much like Assault, accumulating points that you can use to buy gear otherwise unattainable.

They might let you run around with 'em tho, we'll see...

Chances are, they're only going to be used in the Circuit. Removing the need for chocobo fees will cause pretty noticable inflation. Ofcourse, notice the time frame they said. 1-3 months for raising. Just enough time for the next update after this one, which will probably be the circuit update.

Knowing Square, they're going to screw this up horribly, and it's going to be another Wamoura Cocoon fiasco.

I just hope we don't have to keep the egg in our inventory until it's ready to hatch, sorta like Pokemon breeding. Heh. I want a white bird for when I'm on White Mage.

I'm hoping it's a case of being able to ride out from any chocobo stable using the bird you've bred... or at the very least from the stable in your home city. It would be lame if the only time you could ride it is in the racing circuit. I can see a sideline industry of gambling on racing results, though.

I hope they at least let in the name drumsticks for me. I was so hertbroken when i found out I couldnt custom name them.

I hope they let us eat chocobo's we don't need anymore.

Anyways... just a heads up to you future breeders.. yes.. that's right, a VG cats reference :P

Well, as you will be breeding them in ToA areas, and housing them in TOA areas... it would stand to reason that if they did allow you to use them to run arround, it would only be in the ToA Maps... which currently have no chocobo service. Therefore, it wouldn't have an impact on the current controls against inflation.

I'll personally be rather shocked if we are not able to use them in ToA areas as chocobo are normally used... And i'm sure there will be housing fees and whatnot... which will add to the inflation controls :p /shrug who knows though, it is SE... and they often fail to do what seems reasonable '-';

The thing about even using them in the Aht Urghan areas, is that theres really no point. You have 3 fielded areas before a dungeon that leads to another fielded area. Wajaom > Mamook > Wajaom/Bhaflau, Wajaom/Bhaflau > Halvung > Mt. Zhaolym/Wajaom/Bhaflau, Caedarva > Arrapago > Caedarva. And generally, with the exception of Mamook, the dungeon areas are pretty close to Al Zhabi/Nashmau. Theres no need for travel time reduction when travel time is already pretty low before you hit a dungeon.

Ofcourse, thats assuming they aren't adding a Call feature for them.

quested.

4 charges

quest re-doable each conquest or something.

that is how it should be done if they add call as a feature for chocobos.

Honestly, I'd rather have them work on more pressing matters than letting people ride chocobos around in Aht Urghan. Where's the NPC quests we were, more or less, promised to enjoy ToAU more with a leveled NPC? More missions? The Underwater Ruins region? (H)NMs to camp? Contentwise, ToAU was pretty empty at release. Moreso than CoP.

I haven't looked to hard, but there seems to be an absence of wild spawning NMs other than cerberus.
