CHR + Blue Magic

Does anybody notice that it got alot easier to attain blue magic once you got to the later levels and got alot of +CHR? I think attaining spells might have to do with CHR stats... along with other things.
 
Yeah, that's a common rumor right now. No way to confirm/deny, but hey, couldn't hurt to try it.

Doesn't every stat increase once you get to the later levels?
 
I think all the CHR+ stats are just so that BSTs can get alot out of this job as BLU/BST or BST/BLU. There are also other stat enhancements that other jobs could get out of BLU. So....does CHR affect Blue magic? I highly, highly, highly doubt it.

What lv is your blue mage?
 
I think it's just random luck so far. I've had BST subbed to my BLU for the last few levels. While I do seem to be learning abilities a bit faster, I think that's due to my pets building the prey's TP faster, hence more moves and more chances to learn new spells in a shorter period of time. But I'm only level 11 atm so that's not saying a lot. :p
 
No it is not something we can confirm but as taru blu/bst I have learned skills faster then any of the other blu that I pt'd with for spells and at lvl 8 blu I am currently completing the lvl 16 spell tier. Oh and most of the spells untill the lvl 8 gap of trying to learn 16tier at lvl 8 I was getting the spell within the first 3 times of seeing it.

CHR affecting spell learning a rumor? Yes
Do I believe it is true even so? Yes.

I've been wearing alot of my old bard equipment whenever I go out to learn new spells. Just to note, while attempting to learn Sheep Song, I found a random large bat, so I engaged it, it used Blood Drain, and I learned it 1/1. No way to prove or disprove, but meh.
 
My blue is lvl 34... seems really easy to learn spells now but i'm having problems learning if something checks "too weak to be worthwhile". can i not learn abilities if the mob checks "too weak"? Confirm if you have learned on something that checks to weak.
 
No, you can't learn from too weaks. The mob has to be able to normally give you experience for you to learn. Partying with a high level person will still give you a chance to learn, even though you don't get EXP. It must range EP through 10 levels over your Blue Mage level.

I've read a lot about CHR doint absolutely nothing but... whatever you wanna try, go for it.
 
Well, if there is a CHR modifier, it's really small. Took me about two days to learn Bludgeon, and I was fully decked out in CHR+ gear and had all my CHR+ spells set.
 
Well, judging by the fact I ALWAYS have my chr gear and spells set that enhance CHR, and still have shitty rates on learning most spells, 1/30 on Pinecone Bomb, I'm inclined to think it's all just random, and CHR does not do much for learning spells.

Yeah, you can. It was just mistranslated. Read here. You can't learn from mobs that never give exp, such as bcnm enemies. You can learn from too weaks. People have learned from them as posted here.
 
Learned from too weak

I have officially learned from a mob that checks "too weak to be worthwhile" I guess it just seemed like it wasnt happening beacuse the battles take so long with the mob missing constantly and not building tp. Blue mage good fun eh? It's going to be very hard to get some of these higher level spells I predict... 60's and 70's... mobs get tough to solo... hope for blue spell learn parties!
