I'm not going to name any names here... cuz thats not my style, just looking for maybe some advice, maybe help. But for the most part im just venting the frustration that has been building up for a few days now.
So a few days back i was in an EXP party out in cape terrigan (good pt btw) and i started talking to one of the members. He said some of his LS were there camping the Sirocco Kukri NM, and me wanting this dagger like a bum needs a shower, i asked if i could help camp it in return for a future kukri. He asked the LS for me, and they agreed. So after the xp pt i went over there, got a pearl, and basically did what i could. we had a blast out there, but lost the claim (when i was afk getting a poptart btw ;_
so then after the rdm that claimed it took 30min or so to kill it solo, we got the ToD and agreed to come back at the 9 hour point when it re-opened.
Now the next day before the window opend, the person that was supposed to get the kukri needed to go afk for the big part of the day (it was christmas eve and all) so I was the only one out there, and i was able to assemble some people from the LS, as well as a few of my friends. after like 4 hours of his window being open, Kreutzet (nm name) spawnd (again while i was afk btw ; ; i was taking a shower) and this one didnt even drop ;_;, and it would have probably went to me, unless the other THF there decided to lot on it...
ok so another 9 hours later, it was me, the guy who went AFK all day had returned, and a blm. we messed around for a bit and then in the first windy weather it spawned. I pulled it, died, and eventually the other 2 died as well, but were able to come back and kill it for the drop. I passed on this one because he was the one originaly camping it, and so i was happy knowing i would be next in line, hopefully.
Another 9 hours pass, and now we're on Christmas day, and im camping with the guy who just got the kukri, as well as a friend of mine. We were there... probably 5-6 hours after the window supposedly opened. The kukri holder said he had to go, as he had family coming over. Completly understandable, i mean its christmas. so he leaves, my my friend leaves too because he would have no chance in killing the NM, too low of a lvl. So i know it is going to spawn soon, most likely the next Windy weather. so i appeal to the LS for some help. I dont get a response, i asked about 3 times and just got put on ignore. which again i can understand, i just got into the LS 2 days before, and now im asking them to kill a lvl 70 NM with no profits in sight for them. And alas, 10 minutes later, Windy weather and Kruetzet appear. i basically freak out in all caps to the ls " ZOMG ZOMG WIND WIND ZOMG KRUETZET" and *now* i get the 'are you serious?' 'is anyone else out there' 'im omw.' and of course before any of them get out there it depsawns, due the wind weather effect dissapearring. So, alas, 7 hours of camping for a kukri down the drain. Atleast i was able to play my new Shadow of the Colossus game i got for x-mas, but i digress.
the next 9 hour window was way way early this morning. Thus begins the i guess you could say "Flaming" of this post. The person who i camped for his kukri with, allegedly counter-camped some people in the LS at another NM, and was booted from the shell. he was the only person who actually camped *with* me for my kukri, and was my trump card in getting any additional help, since i was new to the ls and me being in it for only 2 days. So now all i can do is beg for help from my friends that have reached 75 (and are usually busy /cry) and continue to ask this LS, which hasnt proved to be very effective thus far. The person who camped with me, now, says he cant help me get the kukri because he now wants nothing to do with the LS he just got booted from. So me, being caught in the middle of this, lost his only camping partner, and now has to rely on the nice people on his friends list and hopefully the ones in this LS... once again im pretty much just venting here, not pointing fingers or anything. ( i also just slept thru the next spawn window... my alarm didnt wake me up at 4am to see if it spawned ;_; so now i have effectively lost the ToD)
So all in all, i feel out of luck and caught in the middle of all this, and still kukri-less. losing the ToD will probably lose me all the possible help i could get.
But i can only blame myself, i mean if someone just joined my linkshell and all he did was ask for and about one sporratic-spawning NM for a rare/ex item, i would probably put him on ignore too. So hopefully i can get some advice, maybe sympathy, i can move on from this fiasco and hopefully get my hands on some help, and in the future hopefully a kukri.
