Hey All!

So - any fabulous plans for Christmas anyone? Please tell me you are going somewhere exotic and warm...so I can live vicariously through you <3

I am going to Michigan to be with my family >< Don't get me wrong, I love 'em and miss seeing them (I DO NOT MISS THE SNOW) but they are all crazy. I give it 3 hours before everyone starts yelling at eachother ><
My BF has to stay home this year (he just got a promotion, so he can't get time off) so I have to go it alone....AND be without him on Christmas for the first time in 6 years.

/sigh It will be ok though. We have a vacation planned in February (Hawaii!!!!) and we NEVER get to go on vacation, so yeah. There is that to look forward to....and of course the work holidays. Gotta love getting paid to be at home <3

***So - what are your plans?

Well . . . not much on this end . . . staying at home, deocrating, spending time with Rioka.

Having a Prarie Bear and friends pot luck (and drinks of course  )sometime soon.

yep . . . thats about it.

Im gonna pray to Christ that I can get my kids enough shit to make them happy, Then we are going to /hide from phone calls and doorbells till Jan. 2nd

Its all about my kids these days, I could care less about gathering with people I only see twice yearly, let alone try to get enough cash together to buy them something that will wind up in a closet or re-gifted the next day.

BAH, HUMBUG! If it wasnt so damn commercialized I might give 1/2 a damn.
Its all over the TV (ugh!) (puke!) The Dell ad with the Dope from G4's "the screensavers" comes to mind. These guys all unrapping about 30k worth of gifts?!?!?!!? oh Fuck off ! and the one with the car in the living room?!?!?!!?
with a big bow on it??? .... sickens me. Must be nice to be one of Americas 5% that can do shit like that for X-mas. Commercialization slaps us real folks in the face with that shit advertising and reminds me of how little I can actually provide :( Thanx a whole bunch Media Conglom-o's for pounding that in just a little harder X.X

Sorry to turn this thread into a rant, but as the years go by, this season means less and less to my husband and I. As long as our kids can smile and be happy on x-mas morning is all we could ever want or need.
So, thats what we are doing I guess, shunning commercialization and
enjoying the day with our kids, helping them put together/ install/ try on
the things we slaved and prayed we could get for them.

Staying here in Indiana and spend time with my family, which will end up with me counting the minutes until I can leave. Then exchange gifts with a couple friends and hope I know them as well I think I do. Then go home surrounded by meaningless possesions. =P

I was in DC this past weekend for my sisters graduation from Howard. Weather wasn't too bad.

No it wasn't bad over the weekend, but it is COLD AS HELL NOW (but, no snow!!!!) - but I am sure when I am in Mich. with frostbite, I will be missing it...

Not visiting my family, the 1st I get off work is the 24th. orz
And I only get a week off of work, so I'll bum around town. It's kinda good in a way cause now I have better excuse to stay around and see all my friends that are coming home from out of state/country. Oh and I'm not giving anyone anything cause I"m broke and rent due =P
I told everyone not to get me anything cause I know I can't get them squat....orz

Josh is putting up the tree tonight <3 and I am making cookies  The sugar kind with the colored sugar on top (don'tcha love how CHristmas allows you to add sugar ontop of SUGAR cookies?!?! <3) and the peanut butter kind with the chocolate kiss nipples ;)

I <3 Christmas cookies

Christmas cookies do rock!
Aside from making some cookies and putting up a tree, I have no plans.

Parents are in Colorado and I'm out of days off for the year, so...
Maybe next time.

Hummm.... I had lots of plans made with my GF for Christmas. Last year was such a blast with her, I had a ton of fun. Then she moved out not to long ago, so Christmas now is just gonna be another day...

But I still go on a cruise on the 2nd of January in the Carrabeans!!! Woohoo!!!!

We will be ... MOVING!!!! I've been packing for weeks now, good grief it's neverending ... every day I say the same thing, "I need more boxes" ... 12 years of crap to pack ... I never in a million years thought we'd sell our house this time of year ...

Anyway, we do have the big family Christmas party this Sunday, Dec. 19th ... it's so big we have to rent a hall every year ... then my Parents on the 24th, and then we start moving either Christmas day or the day after ...

The part that I'm bummed the most about is we didn't even put up a tree this year, I usually do my tree Victorian ... oh well, in the end this will all be worth it, I hope, when we finally get our dream built (a log cabin in the woods) ...

 Ill be alone this Christmas again.
My mom and my litle sister went to Mexico lke every year. My dad is going soon too. My other Sister lives in San Diego. Right now im living with my syster, but I know I will spend the holidays alone ; ;. All my friends are doing something with their families so i cant join. My uncles and aunts who didnt go to Mexico re going to have a party, but I dont like to go. /sigh
Damn, I got al sad again. This was my last Christmas before I joined the Navy next year too ; ; and I will spend it alone. Hopefully FFXI will cheer me up

So Jender, you gonna come visit me for cookies too? Since you're like, coming to my back door O_o

Christmas? Bah, humbug. I hate the holidays. I'll go to my moms for dinner, and my dad for gifts. And that's all. *Shrug* I need to start baking christmas cookies though, since I'm broke this year.

I'm gonna be spending the day with my mom and brothers, yeah, or atleast spending as much time with them as I can possibly stand.

I love my mom.. but my brothers.. must.. not.. ki..ll.. *gets slapped* Ah, thanks.. whoever did that.

That being said I just bought them all presents yesterday. Going with them on Christmas Night to my Aunt & Cousin's house for dinner (they live about 30 minutes from my mom, who lives like 3 minutes away from me ><; )

Hope you all have a good Christmas, or whatever holiday you celebrate.

I'll probably be on FFXI later that night.. if.. I dont have to work the next day.

im gonna be eating all the christmas cookies i can lol then im gonna make me some desert for myself, then spend the rest of the day with my family.

Going back to Chicago to visit the family. Christmas was always a HUGE thing with my family- in fact, back in the days when my grandparents were still alive, we had so much family we'd have to rent a hall for our family Christmas party.

It's nowhere near as big as it used to be, but still promises to be a lot of fun. Christmas Eve is dinner at my aunt's house, with all my cousins. This is the first year since I was about 7 that everyone is living in Chicago again, so it's gonna be nuts. The coolest part will be my daughter Sofia getting to meet her 2nd cousins: she's the oldest of the 3rd generation, all girls born within 9 months of each other. So there will be 3 little toddler girls running amok, lol.

Christmas day is actually a quiet affair in comparison. Open gifts in the morning, then Mass at 11 AM. Dinner in the late afternoon with my mom's side of the family. More gifts after dinner- mostly for the adults, who have the patience to wait. :P

Good grief, even I didn't know better, I'd swear we were related!!!

My family always orders Pizza on Christmas Eve (as to not dirty dishes while we are all running around like crazy getting last minute shit done) I somehow always get roped into wrapping the million gifts (no we are nowhere NEAR being wealthy, but there are kids in the family - and my mom has always believed in Quantity over Quality...I think she likes the way a bunch of crappy gifts look under the tree better than a few big ones) my Dad drinks too much eggnog and passes out on the couch, my sis waits for the kids to go to sleep to decorate the tree (in our family, Santa decorates it...so the kids don't see it until Christmas morning - which I always loved as a kid) my mom does Stockings.

It's gotten down to a science LOL

Actually - thinking of that actually makes me a tad excited to go home now, so thanks <3

Hmmmmm I'm just going to spend Christmas like usual at home. Good presents, good food, good family!

Oh and I didn't want to make another thread or post this elsewhere, I thought this would be a good place but.....

NO MORE FINALS YAY!!!

Free til' January 6th
