I saw this today, I liked it better than the first one, it was good to see more of the main characters doing some actual fighting in this one. I'd recommend this movie.

But they should have acknowledged LOTR in the credits for the stuff they borrowed lol.

I took my goddaughter to see it, and I must say that this should have really been a PG-13 movie, I wouldn't take kids too young to see this.

The Chronicles of Narnia were written not long after the Lord of the Rings, and both authors borrowed from their experiences during WWII. It's not surprising they carry similar themes and events.

Awesome movie, though. I really hope they make movies of all the books and not just a few.

I was more talking about the way the scenes were portrayed on the screen, one for example was when Susan was in the middle of the battlefield popping of arrows, looked like Legolas scene from the first LOTR.

Spoilers, Kinda of lol.

They have already confirmed the next Narnia for 2010, and I personally hope they stop there. All the original characters will be gone after that one, and the last four books jump all around the Narnia timeline and really have no consistent characters other than Aslan.

Spoiler:

Absolute favorite part of the movie was with the White Witch. It was perfect. She can look very sinister.

I'm a Narnia nut. And thus, I think this was the best movie I'll see in 2008. :)

Spoiler:

Or when Caspian is running away at the very beginning and he's being chased across a wooded area by multiple horsemen, and manages to elude them by crossing a river which happens to be a magical divide... (and later Aslan makes another reference to the water wiping out everyone)

That and the ENDLESS Biblical references in both movies just had my friends and I rolling whenever we'd notice one. I bet we could have turned it into an interesting drinking game.

So do I. Chronicles of Narnia were some of my favorite books when I was a kid.

Looks good I wanna see

FOR ASLAN!!

Fixed.

Jesus Allegory Lion ftw. Movie was amaaaazing.

Spoiler:
my favorite was at the end when they walk through the tree, I turned to my friend and in the voice of Aslan said "HA! Best prank ever, that's a damn cliff behind there! Sooooooo stuuuupid!"

Considering the whole series is based on the coming of Jesus in the end, just a faerie tale version to relate to younger kids. Why would that have you rolling? Or was that the only reason you went to watch it?

not just that, but J.R.R Tolkein and C.S. Lewis actually were... basically friends :P

Well, yes and no. C.S. Lewis is credited with saying:

Some people seem to think that I began by asking myself how I could say something about Christianity to children; then fixed on the fairy tale as an instrument, then collected information about child psychology and decided what age group I’d write for; then drew up a list of basic Christian truths and hammered out ‘allegories’ to embody them. This is all pure moonshine. I couldn’t write in that way. It all began with images; a faun carrying an umbrella, a queen on a sledge, a magnificent lion. At first there wasn’t anything Christian about them; that element pushed itself in of its own accord.

This movie is also nothing like the book, I forgot to say that in the first post. This is the worst adaptation of a book since Eragon. It's a great movie on it's own, but if you are a fan of the book, you'll barely recognize it.

I think it was very nicely done I can't wait till they do the 3rd book which is coming out in 2010.
