Claudhert awakens, as the early morning sun beams throught the open window onto his drowsy half asleep face. As he dresses for the days work at the Smithing guild, he thinks to himself "I must remeber to to visit my parents on the way to work..... they asked me to stop by today". After getting ready he locks door to his house and heads towards the market.

He enters the market and looks behind him to see an airship arriving at the port. As he thinks to himself "One day, I will travel the world and seek a true adventure on one of those Airships".........
"Oh crap I'm late for work and i still havent gone by my parents yet!!"

As he approaches his parent house next to the Magic Shop he looks up to see a Ghastly White Figure clad in black armor from head to to toe, jump from The high wall of the Port through his parents house's roof.

As Claud runs to his parents house he hears his mother's scream, followed by the smashing of wood and breaking of Glass. As Claudhert Breaks through the door he sees the figure in black stab his father through the chest.
"Ha ha You fool" The fiqure in black said maniacly "You think I wouldn't realize that you took the amulet"
as the figure in black turns to look at Claudhert with his sword drawn
"You wish to fight me" he said "You will suffer the same fate as your parents.... Firaga!!!
Claud tries to dodge but is hurled through the wall of the house and is knock unconsious by the force of the exsplosion.
As The house begins to catch fire the, Figure in black vanishs in a Cloud of black magic

Claud awakens on the streets of bastok, to see a big galka hovering over him....
"You ok there boy?" the Galka asks
"Ghemp?........MOM! DAD! WHERE ARE THEY?!?" Claud yells
"You were the only i could get to before the house collapsed" Ghemp said sighlently
"The Man in Black did you see him!?"
"No I'm sorry Claud, I didn't"
As Claud slowly comes to grip on what happend. He looks at the remains of his parents house looking down seeing a shimmer within the rubble.
"Whats this?..... My Fathers sword..." picking up the sword " I will find this man in black and Kill him with this! My Fathers Sword!!!"
Sheathing his fathers sword he returns home with tears streaming down his face.

As Claudhert is packing his bag there comes a knocking on his door
"Your gonna need armor for this trip your going on. And I Ghemp of the Smithing guild won't let you travel the world in rusted armor. So we made you this."
As Ghemp hands Claudhert a full set of Chainmail, Claud looks at Ghemp in disbelief
"Thank you so much" Claud says
"I just want you to come back from this adventure alive, your a good smither and I'd hate to lose talent like yours from the guild" Ghemp said as he walked away
As Claud locks the door to his house, he looks back towards the markets, turns and walks toward the exit to North Gustaburg in his new armor, thinking "I will kill that Man in Black even if it costs me my life"

Claudherts Chapter part 2

Deep with in the fumeroles of South Gustaburg, Claudhert makes camp and sits next to his meager fire trying to stay warm, thinking about the events that occurred just the other day…

“You fool!” The man in black said “You think we wouldn’t realize you had the amulet?”
Claud slams open the door to his parent’s house just as the man in black stabs his father through the chest with his black jagged scimitar. As Claud’s Fathers sword falls from his lifeless hands, the man in black turn around and stares right into Claudhert’s eyes.
Claud stares at the tall ghastly white hume in all Black Armor holding a jagged black scimitar in each hand. Claud draws his dagger and gets ready to attack
“You wish to fight me as well? Ha! Ha! Ha! You’ll face the same fate as your parents……Scorch the ground with Swords of Flames! Firaga 3!!!!”
Claud tries to dodge but is hurled through the wall of the house by the force of the magical explosion.
As the house begins to catch fire, the man in black clutches the dark purple amulet in his hand and vanishes in a cloud of black magic.
Slowly Claud begins to lose conscious until everything goes black…..

“Father… Mother… I swear on my love for you I won’t let that man go unpunished” Claud thinks as he stares into the fire.
Unsheathing his sword he looks down at the markings engraved in gold on it “I fight to protect the ones I love. Jacob Dewvaat”
“You know that’s no ordinary sword you have there, Claudhert Dewvaat” said a mysterious voice from the shadows
“Who’s there?” Claud yells, jumping to his feet “Show yourself!”
“Relax. The name is Iron Eater” said the galka “The president has requested to see you.”
“Why me?”
“Are you not the son of the late Jacob Dewvaat, the greatest Paladin to ever serve the Republic?”
“I … knew my father was a great swordsman but a paladin!?!”
“Let us hurry to the president’s office it’s a matter of great importance”
Iron Eater looks back towards Bastok and whistles, seconds later two chocobos appear out of the black night. The two riders mounted the chocobos and head toward Bastok.

Three hours later the two arrive at the Presidents office.
“Now Claud be respectful in the presents of the President Karst” Iron Eater said
“Ah… Don’t worry about me”
“None the less, be mindful of who you will be speaking with.”
“Yes, sir.”
As Claud enters the Presidents office he sees a man with a very troubled look on his face sitting at a luxurious table.
“Claudhert Dewvaat, I presume” said President Karst
“Yes, sir, Mr. President”
“First off I am sorry to hear about the loss of your parents, Bastok has indeed lost one of its greatest heroes. But with the theft of the adaman amulet your father was guarding, the very world of Vana’Deil is in danger.” said President Karst
“My father’s amulet?”
“Yes, it is one of the three keys used to seal away the Shadowlord”
“But I thought the Shadowlord was a myth.”
“No, he is quite real and if he is revived it will mean the destruction of all of Vana’Deil”
“I mean no offense by this Sir, but why are you telling me this?” Claudhert asked questioningly.
“Because, Bastok needs your help. Our Armies are occupied on all fronts with the constant beastmen attacks, and we can’t leave this situation up to the arrogant Elvaans or those pompous Taru-Taru. You are the son of the greatest hero to ever serve in the Bastokian Army, and have trained with him in the art of the sword for your entire life, also being a well know adventurer. You are more than qualified to undertake this mission.”
“Ok, what do you want me to do?”
“We want you to retrieve the amulet that was stolen from your father and stop the revival of the Shadowlord. We believe the man that attacked your parents was the Ark Angel Karis, one of the three subordinates of the Shadowlord, he should have the amulet.”
“Where do you think I should start my search?”
“Jueno would probably be the best place to start your search, that’s why we are issuing you an airship pass. Once you arrive in Jueno talk to our embassy there, they will set up a meeting with the Arch Duke who will give you the information you will need. That is all…. Dismissed”
“Yes Sir,” Claud said as he leaves the office

“Damn. I’m in way over my head” Claud thinks “But this make my hunt for Karis The Ark Angel that much easier.”
Walking through Bastok’s port Claud begins thinking about the mission and the task ahead as he looks up to see the airship arrive.
“I don’t want to miss the ship, I’d better run”
After running through customs and boarding the airship Claud climbs the stairs and stares of the ship and walks over to the railing of the ship as it begins to take off. Circling through the bay, the airship turns around and takes flight with Claud still at the railing thinking “This is where my true adventure begins”

Chapter 3

Gazing off the deck of the airship, Claud, in his Royal Knights Chain mail and His Fathers Sword the “Save the Queen” at his side, looks to the north to see the City of Jeuno on the edge of the horizon. He hears a voice echo through the ship. “Please Come below deck, we will be arriving in Jeuno shortly”. Claud quickly complies and runs below deck and takes his seat as the ship begins its decent toward Jeuno.
Moments later the Airship lands and finishes its landing procedures then begins unloading the passengers. Claud walks out of the airship to see the dock decorated with lavish marble and a beautiful canopy that covered the dock area. Exiting the dock area Claud looked toward the center of the city to see small shops and bazaars lining the sides of the entire bridge. Suddenly a voice came out of the crowd.
“Claudhert… Claudhert Dewvaat?”
Turning to the sound of the voice Claud saw a man in a blue aketon with the emblem of Bastok on the sleeve.
“Yes? How can I help you?” Claud said to the man
“Hello, Claudhert. My name is Jason. I was sent by the Bastokian Embassy. They want me to escort you there.”
“Okay”
“Please follow me”
As Claud followed Jason to the embassy they walked by hundreds of adventurers trying to sell the items from their adventures. Once they reached the top of the staircase Claud emerged to see a beautiful marble complex of stairs, fountains, and beautiful plants.
“What is this place” Claud asked
“This is Ru’Lud Gardens; this is where all three nations have their embassies as well as being the home of the Arch’ duke.” Jason said as they walked through the gardens.
Once they arrived at the Bastokian Embassy Jason talked to the Galka at the front desk for a few seconds then the Galka nodded and said in a deep voice “Ok Claudhert, The Ambassador will see you now.
Claud entered the ambassador’s office to see a man looking at a map of vana’diel. Seeing Claud the ambassador looked up and said “Claudhert Dewvaat, “It’s a pleasure to meet you. President Karst sent word about what happened and I’m terribly sorry to hear about your parents. But the world as we know it is in great danger... So we informed the Arch’ Duke of what happened in Bastok and has since asked to see you upon your arrival.”
“He wants to see me?”
“Apparently he wants your help with something. What that is, I don’t know. But in order to even see the Arch’ duke you must hand this letter to the Guards in front of the audience chamber.”
After the ambassador hands Claud he says goodbye and exits the ambassador’s office and starts to think. I get to meet the one of the most influential people in all of vana’deil.
At the steps of the Palace Claud looks down at the letter given to him, takes a deep breath then walks in. As he walks up the stairs he spots two Gaurds in full Gold Cuirass Armor guarding a large rosewood double door.
“Halt” the two guards say in unison “No one may see the Arch’Duke without an appointment.
Startled Claud Jumps back and fumbles with the letter. “I……. was given this letter from the Bastokian Ambasador” Claud said nervously
The guard looks at the letter, reading it for a second, then looking up. “Ok Claudhert you audience with the Arch’duke has been Granted”.
As t he two gaurds open the throne room Claudhert enters the lavish throne room. Reaching the center of the room, Claud kneels respectively to he Arch’ duke sitting on the throne.
“Rise Claudhert Dewvaat of Bastok” The Arch’ duke said
“You wished to see me sir?” Claud said nervously
“Yesterday I dispatched the Captain of the ducal guard to Delkufts Tower to investigate the increase in beastmen activity there and so far he has yet to return. I would like you to go Delkufts tower and report back to me what you find. This task isn’t to hard for the son of Bastok’s greatest hero is it?”
“No sir” Claud said “Thank you for this opportunity, and I’ll get right on it”
With that said Claud turns and leaves the throne room, and runs to the Residential Area to prepare for his journey.

One hour later Claud starts out on his trip to delkuft’s tower. Standing at the Entrance of the Qufim Tunnel, Claud pulls his Beak Mantle around his shoulders and pins it tight for warmth. After fixing his bag he begins the long hike towards the snow fields.
After 45 minutes of hiking Claud emerges at the mouth of the tunnel where snow is blowing in. Looking up Claud sees Lighting and aura flashes light up the skies of qufim with the image of Delkufts tower off in the distance. Flipping the hood on his mantle up, he begins the walk to delkufts tower as he follows the rock wall and the cliffs edge.
Suddenly, Claud hears the sound of rocks falling and the a girl screams. Run to where he heard the sound Claud looks around and shouts “HELLO? IS ANYONE THERE?”
“HELP ME!!!” The girl screams
Following the sound Claud looks over the cliff to see a girl with a Black ponytail and Full Red Mage Artifact Armor dangling from the rock face a couple feet below him. Laying down in his stomach he stretches his arm out and grabs the girls arms.
“I’ve got you” Claud says as he begins pulling her up
Once Claud had pulled her to safety they both sat near the edge of the cliff, hearts still pounding and both still breathing hard.
“Thank you so much” the girl said “You saved my life”
“Awww, it was nothing” Claud said “I’m Just Glad I got to you in time”
“I couldn’t have held on much longer, But enough about that. Can I ask your name?”
“ My name is Claudhert Dewvaat, though everyone just calls me Claud.”
Nice to meet you Claud, my name is Darkrose”
“So Darkrose what where you doing on that Cliff?”
I was on my way to delkufts tower and I stoped to check my map as the ground gave way”
“You are going to Delkuft;s Tower?”
Yeah apparently there are some strange things happening there, So Sand’oria Sent me here to investigate it.”
“Well then, we have almost the same mission. Want to travel together?”
“Sure I could always use the company, but we should get moving.
“Ok then Lets get going.”
They both get up and shake the snow off their cloths, check their map and walk together toward Delkufts tower.

So far when I read this my heart stops beating and I blush...it's weird but when I read this post I feel uncomfortable, but then again I am a 100% Anti-RP

I read this and I get embarrased looking at it, and I start to think "Why do I play this game? I am TOTALLY different than any of these guys."

This stuff is gay.

I really don't want to be the only one who hates this, so I'll say something nice.

I had my moms boyfriend, a college professer at Boston University, read this.

He thinks that you shouldn't waste your talents on posting, because man, you could get rich from this. Imagine if you used all of these writing talents and wrote a book on Fantasy.

Take examples like Eragon and Harry Potter. The authors are fcking filthy rich, and I can tell you enjoy writing. So people like me could actually start to admire the people in this game, something to look up to maybe? To tell the truth if there were more people like you, there wouldnt be more people like me or Colbwa or Sessho or all those other young kids that are assholes in this game.

Write a book, if you think that this is an accomplishment, and you get a good feeling out of reading all the "awesome!" and "terrifics" here, imagine when the entire country is saying so.

Maybe I don't like it, but as you can tell everyone else does, so please write a book.

pandetech how can you not like rp but like rpgs. they are the same thing. even ffxi. you are playing as a character. and you wonder why your on the top 10 most unliked people on this server. you dont make sense

Whelp, truth is, RP isn't for everyone. There seems to be two major types of players in FFxi, (and I can only imagine in other mmorpg's as well):

A) People who see themselves as the character, or channel themselves through the character.

B) Those who hold themselves at a distance from the character.

The first group tends to worry about status/reputation. The character they portray is a cross section of their personality that they wish to communicate to others. These are the type to associate with the job they pick as well. Theres something about the race/job that they pick that they find appealing to the image they want to project.

The second group tend to view this as any other game. They don't form a connection with their character, and simply see it as an avatar, no different than a screen name or a FPS character. It has nothing to do with age, I'm sure there are plenty of adults who find RP stupid, and even embarrassing to read.

Why be embarrassed though? It can't be Claud's subject matter, because the story he's telling is seen in many forms in many medias. Sasuske of Naruto fame is on a similar quest. It can't be FFxi's style, because aesthetically FFxi is more muted and quiet, edging towards slightly modified reality with a dash of super deformed inspiration, to appeal to all markets. If style was the cause, Rock Lee should make you blush until your face exploded.

I suggest that the people who hate RP, and actually feel embarrassed about it, may actually like it, but in the world they live in, it is considered 'uncool.' My suggestion is to just give the story a read through, and worry not about the image reading the story projects.

So anyway...nice story Claud^^ I wish it were a little longer, and perhaps a little more atmospheric, but I'm the type to really draw out my descriptions, not always a good thing I'm sure; ; I'm a sucker for revenge stories however, and look foward to your future postings^^

I got the story line rough draft all created. ill start bringing the story to work on my flash drive since from 3:30-4:30. i really dont do shit cept play on my computer anyway during that time..

anyway. Big event happens in Delkufts tower. that will be in my next update.

Then the gang begins the trip to Xarcabard where the story more intresting

Also there are going to be some BHE Members joinin in on the mission to save the world.
