Claud's thinkin about leveling a new Job

it been hashed and thrashed and beat into the ground. and the only thing to come out of it is that it falls on how well the player can tank.
 
NIN is definately the way to go. It's a great comibination of tank and DD and after having leveled PLD, I would think that would be something you'd enjoy even if you feel there is a rivalry between the two. I've also noticed that a lot of PLDs have NIN leveled too so I think it's in their blood or something.

This is pretty much irrelevant, because he's going to be leveling a job with one of the most broken weapons in the game: destroyers. PUP could get away with Hades Sainti, because they won't be pulling hate often enough for 7 enmity to matter, but for a monk you'd notice it. Sainti for monk are for solo only.

If you go monk, get destroyers and you can even unlock them on your PLD screwing around with friends so you'll be especially pimp as soon as you ding 73. No other weapon even comes close(saphari is insignificantly better), don't be a gimp, get them.

Wagh Baghnakhs are better than Hades Sainti too, and much cheaper.

to many monks on the server already. and the rising ones are giving the job a bad name.

i did a little bit of leveling on SAM satarday night. and enjoyed it once the party got going, but i found out to be uber at the level im at i need a crap ton of stuff...... ok mabye 3 items.... but they cost a small fortune.

these are Jujitsu Gi , Fuma Khayan and Ochiudo's Kote

My plan is to spam BCNM60 Divine punishers for the Kote and the Khayan.. but is the Gi hard to farm? Poisonhands right?

and anyone know the drop rate of the O kote or the Khayan from divine Punishers?

each drop is supposed to have a 5% drop rate. It also drops the master belt which is worth 500kish but never ever sells fast.
 
SAM has been fun, mine is lvl42. but i have had a sobo waiting for me since like lvl20... and already have alot of NIN/MNK gear... and most gear is NIN/MNK/SAM... soooo.. why not ; ; hehe

Honestly, Fuma's are useless for samurai; after 70, you're going to want hachiman sune-ate for a 6-hit build and until then you'll never get enough haste gear to make them worth wearing.

You can also just camp Ochimusha Kote, there's wasn't a lot of competition for Mee Deggi when I camped mine; you just have to go at a good time.
 
Ive camped him before and went 0/7 and started getting discouraged.

im gonna try to get a Divine Punishers run together tonight after Dynamis, but i dunno

If those are 5% drop rate then forget it - better to go farm money items, sell, and purchase the kote.

... I went 0/25 on Quu and just swore off Oztroja altogether. (And yes, that's with TH3 for most of the kills with friends helping.)

Gi is cheap at a quarter mil, right? >_>

This is a very good reason. That'd be like getting a Ridill and not leveling a job that can use it.
