Ok, so i don't mean to shoot this one out there to make accusations or anything but ... here we go.
Anyone ever report/been reported as a gilseller? I ask simply to get other experiences than my own because i'm starting to form the opinion that JP gilselling is ok but NA players = bad monkies for the practice. I don't support gilsellers or buyers, but i don't like .. hate them and people who look like them for it .. it's simply a matter of pride in your playing (sounds silly i know .. shoot me).
Anyway, i'd like to know anyone elses experience in this matter. I personally reported a few of the people mentioned on the list which is posted on another thread and got nowhere twice now, all of whom were japanese players and all of whom were to the point of following me and taking my mobs as i got to them in Zi Tah; Chiefly Maxiang, Leol, and Iawxrfwa (this group also includes Jaychou and Smalldraken at times) or something like that. It disturbs me to no end that this is allowed to take place after the recent patch was supposed to envolve suppressing group monopolies
I'm sorry but 1 pt, 2 people per spawnpoint in Zi Tah, for more than 6 days is a dead giveaway to gilselling. This being said, what's the damn holdup on stopping it? Let alone half the pt members that populate the CONSTANT occupation of Zi Tah are apperantly even LISTED as gilsellers is beyond me. Now for the real kicker...
On playonline.com you can hit the community link to find community pages for FFXI .... FFXI which is in an all out war against gil selling ... or so they would have us believe. Find a site on the community list that doesn't link to a gil vendor.... Coincidence or Conspiracy?
 
Most JP dont need to sell/buy using those means. Most have amassed a massive quantity of wealth already, having 2 years to do so and a year before any NA people showed up.

ASIDE from that, if you understand Japanese culture, at least from my uninformed info, this kinda action is not really acceptable, nor needed. Japan is supposedly the richest country in the world now, and there are going to be many more lucrative measures than pedly gil selling. Besides, if JP players DID gil sell, it would be stupidly easy for a lot of em. They could craft their asses off and put out like milions an hour instead of camping a NM.

I highly doubt many, if any, of the players you have problems with are Japanese.
 
But I must say, Jaychou is prolly the friendliest gilseller I've run across.
 
Yeah, Jaychou and Blackdragoon are both really friendly and have indeed helped me with any mission/quest that I needed to complete when they were in the area.

Not that I approve of what they do, but these are the only 2 that I personally wouldn't want banned.
 
it's not neccessarily that i'm particularly pointing the finger at the culture or the people as a whole, but the only person i posted about that i know even remotely speaks english would be either jaychou or smalldraken .. the point still remains .. if there's a list with these doods on it, why is it still going on. Further it's still quite disturbing that gilselling is so frowned upon (or so they would have us believe) but almost every site listed on the community sites listed on POL.com have links or provide the service for gil sales. Just a personal frustration of mine 8)

It sounds EXACTLY like you're pointing the finger at the culture and the people as a whole...
 
If you'd read the post earnestly you'd see i'm more pointing the finger at SE..... but it sure must be alot easier to think i'm some dumbass american say "oh it's the japanese .. i hate them b/c they're good at the game." give me a break and get your fill of that shit in jeuno, it's not my gig. I'm simply saying the SE HAS NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES done anything to help the economy of the game where gilselling and monopolies have occured. This disturbs and frustrates me. The only reason i mentioned JPs in particular is cos iawx is a JP player and that is who i registered a complaint about along with leol who is also JP. Please refrain from making this about me in future, because it's not.

I had a player be very rude to me last night in a farming spot. I was checking to see if people were there (I only farm there when theur is no people, don't like to step on toes) when this person ran up to the front of me and stopped. He then checked me 3 times and started running circles around me. I hate it when I'm farming or NM camping and someone /checks me over and over. It was a blatant way of trying to get me to leave even though I was there for a sec and was about to leave. This got me pretty pissed seeing I was already in a bad mood. So I started checking this person over and over and over and over until I got bored. I get bored quick so I left and while I was leaving I got a /tell saying "goodbye." I replied with "what the **** is your problem." No response. I was tired of wasting my time so I left.

Now I don't know if this person is a gil seller or just an asshole, but she is there and awful lot. All that happened at around 10:00 last night... and she was in the same exact spot at 8:30 this morning. I saw her this morning and no /tells or /checks. I asked all the other people there if they knew her or if she has bugged them and she hadn't. This makes me think she is played by multiple people.

I saw a list on these boards once and I just want to see it again. I can't find the thread but I think I saw her name on it. So does anyone know the thread or a link?
