Seriously. Lots of work. :( Need some FFXI time soon...

Anyone else under similar circumstances?

No, I'm at college...

Well I'm getting into the whole college apps thing now too...but I don't play the game so it doesn't hurt me in that aspect. They're just a major pain ;(

oh god. i gotta start that shit too huh.... gah. i have senioritis already D:

I have senioritis in college. ;/ I am applying for grad school after a year of residency and this so called experience stuff that gets better jobs (30k a semester no thanks).

The high school application stuff is not too bad. As for the scholorships... oi. Apply for as many as eligible for.

I wrote my apps the morning of the day they were due, on a lunch table. So were another 30 people. Thank god for essay-less schools!

any sites out there that are just like. SCHOLARSHIPS HERE. APPLY!?

i dont wanna search em out... orz

I've done apps 2 different times... it blows. Getting ready to start doing it again.

I'm doing the college tour. Hooray transferring!

College is like any other business, as long as you have the money to pay for it, they will take you.

Ah this sucks, I heard the National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist cutoff in washington went up to 219 this year for the PSAT, and i got a 218... :/ I hope it isnt true, I find out tomorrow.

NMS semi-finalist = big money at lots of schools

Everyone come to SUNY New Paltz. I will show you a good time lol

I've had to do Apps twice. Both times I got in everywhere I applied, so the hard part wasn't putting in applications, but choosing where to go.

1 application, 1 school. Needless to say I wasn't worried about not getting accepted... although I really never worry about much of anything...

ugh, i still need to narrow my choices down... lazy ass parents wont give me any dates to plan some final trips to the schools to be sure about my choices.

Common app should be easy to do, but individual school apps will be a bitch ; ;

My advice: If you have a decent in state school: go there for basic stuff then transfer, or just stay in state if its a good school for you. If you are going Ivy or liberal arts this rule may not apply xD, just because alot of lib schools have varied freshman things.

My main in-state school is University of Washington-Seattle. I think it is a pretty decent school (not to mention #1 WOW college users or something), and I hope to get decent merit based aid. Does anyone have an opinion on this school's academics?

I mean, I know Ivy league schools, etc... are good schools and all that, but is it really worth paying 40k+ a year for? I would end up paying ~15k a year for UW without aid. But I know high ranked schools get more businesses recruiting. And then grad school placement too. Argh.

I've been looking at some liberal arts colleges, and while they seem nice. The price tag. Yeah... pow.

I'm looking at about... 3 schools seriously right now.

And... if anyone is interested in undergrad engineering rankings, here is a website

http://www.engineering-colleges.info/Search/Top_Ranked/top_undergrad.htm

which I found helpful.

Ivy Leagues arent really worth the money, at least most of them, unless its a grad program. You can get the same education from a fairly good liberal arts school usually. The difference b/t the price tags being that liberal art schools are more open to scholarships based on merit and aid.

Engineering im guessing is what your going for? Well my school has a decent engineering program, not to informed on Washington, but out of state tuition to my school is like "bitch plz".

Yeah, see, I like engineering and all, but I've heard some pretty dismal things jobswise. Therefore, I will hopefully go on to gradschool and earn a Ph.D. In something...

And OOS (Out of state)tuitions are a big :( factor. I like a lot of schools, and I know my parents could afford it, but I would rather not squander money needlessly.

And UC-boulder is a good school, my uncle works as a lab assistant there in biology dept.

I need more Extra-curriculars :(. Thankfully, I dont think state schools look too hard on them.

Also, I have heard that college admissions are going to keep getting tougher through 2010, due to some large growth in population.

This is fun!

Quote. For. Truth.

SO glad i've finished college, and grad school. I will say this depending on what you want to do, you will keep filling out applications. I had to do a background check for my job. Filling out college application was easier. So the morale of the story is, dont get a job with the fed.
