I get lag here from home, I think it's the site not your connection ;p

Well, that is the plus of going to an engineering school, we have one of the most amazing connections known to man.

Cheap ass website and then cheap dial up over it makes it slower

Heh, I go to an engineering school, and my connection sucks. I've spent most of the last 4 days without internet, and when it's up, it's up for minutes at a time.

aww /comfort, they are soooo cheap :P

Just going to take a guess, but were you trying to acces qcdn between 3am and 11am est? The site absolutly drags in the morning for most people regardless of your connection. I really like my college connection. After 10pm I can usually get 4-5 mbs download rates from programs like Steam.

A friend of mine is the residence hall network manager for one of the area universities. She knows which ports correspond to which games and which p2p clients and has a little bit of fun when she needs bandwidth and shuts off WoW (for example) to the residence halls.

Just remember that you don't own the bandwidth on your campus and it can be shut off at any time.
