College Football- The Empire that is the SEC

Well, so far it seems that I've jinxed, OSU, USC and Florida! Go Oklahoma! I will not reveel who I'm secretly starting to root for fear of jinxing them all the way to the ACC....

4 teams in the top ten. i mean chmone. texas, oklahoma, missouri, and texas tech! fo show
 
To bad the only reason the SEC teams aren't in the top 5 anymore is because their beating each other up!

I love how everyone loves the BIG 12 because they put up big numbers. Big 12 always seems to put out 4000+ yard passers.

What happens to those big passers when they play SEC defenses? What did Jason White look like vs LSU? All those numbers are skewed because they play weak defenses.

missouri, ou, ut, and tech are all really good... i went to college in lubbock last 3 years so i hope they do well too... even though im sure theyre gonna get beaten by ou or texas:p

yea;/ im rooting for texas myself strid. plus damn man how ya been. havent heard from u in forever... ya ima texas boy since i was lil guy... its time to repeat 2005!!! bcs champs....



and yea im getting sick of bcs sytem ... they never get it right on who should be what number especially when it counts.... playoff system gooooooo... even though i know itll prolly never happen

I just think the Big 12 is the second strongest conference but leaps and bounds weaker than the SEC. When Tech is high up in the rankings, you know something is not all right in the universe.

They either need to do it right, a playoff system, or don't do it at all. No BCS rankings, no nothing. Even scrap bowl games, though that's a lot of money. Whichever team wins their conference is the best team of the conference and that should be the highest glory for college football, as of now. South Florida is the 10th best team in college football this week, they're better than Georgia and Florida? Give me a fuckin' break APtards.
 
Rankings shouldn't exist til the end of the year. They then need to evaluate the overall body of work from the top teams.

yea... bcs is retarded but oh well.. its all bout the $$$ anyway so nothing will get changed for awhile im sure.
u still play ffxi strid or no? im trying to come back lol... having a hard time tho... using a hdd from a different ps2 and changing it to my ps2 apparently wont work so i have to reformat the hdd... its lame and annoying...
 
Nah, I've been done with FFXI for a while now. Prefer to spend my game time on the 360 these days.
 
Auburn just embarrassed themselves into next season. Got up quick and then mentally hit the showers.
 
Vandy is good this season, for a change, but still, there is no excuse for that loss. I'm ashamed to be an Auburn fan right now. I tell you what though, the real thing that pisses me off is they didn't lose or have a close game due to their new offense, which has gotten way better. They just fuckin' gave up after they scored. The whole team should just be scrapped after that, let the second string finish the season.
 
As much as I despise Auburn, I actually kinda feel bad for em right now. That's what they get for goin to the spread offense though; as a friend of mine (an Auburn fan) keeps asking, "If you've been puttin out NFL-caliber running backs for years, why would you switch to a pass-heavy spread offense?"

I find he has a great point. I'm sure Ronnie Brown would agree.
 
Well my team just lost to UTEP...


Auburn is having an identity crisis. This week they scrapped the new offense I believe? I wouldn't expect them to play well changing schemes mid season.

Nope, they still ran the spread from what I saw, I didn't watch the entire game though, just most of it. Their offense wasn't the problem this time, well, it was a problem and THE problem but it wasn't from switching to the new offense. They showed in the first quarter they had it near a complete transition. The problem was the offensive players. The best way to describe their loss is this, "Todd: Heyz u guyz, rdy to hit da bar and getz hammered?!?!?!" while there was still 3 quarters to play. Fuckin' offensive players lost the game, not the spread or the change back, if they went back at all for any portion. They just need to scrap the fuckin' offense. A second string offense with heart beats what they did today. Then at least you get those guys most a years experience and ready for next year. You also send a huge message to any player who ever plays for you, ever again.

Today was just a disappointing day in college football. Oregon started strong against USC then quit and all the same with Alabama but at least they managed enough of a lead to win.
 
Oh and I watched Tebow again this week. That guy just doesn't have it. I honestly think with him under center, FL will lose another 2 games at least, possibly more.
 
Yeah, last year, I didn't think he had it either. His team just made him look good. How he won the Heisman I'll never understand. I think it's this whole mentality these days of if a team is successful the QB must be to blame more-so than anyone else on the field, which is gettin' on my nerves. All of these QB's today struttin' around with the captain's patch when they probably aren't the true leaders on the team.
 
I think Tebow kind of won it by default. Last year was kind of a weak year for Heisman candidates. I think that if Dixon doesn't get seriously injured last year, that not only would he have won the Heisman, but the makeup of the BCS probably would have been different as well.
