Was doing a quest yesterday, and by some kindof freak chance this thing popped....now, according to a source or two, it pops when the Leshy aren't killed for 72h, which if that's true makes this orrurance all the rarer. What I'm wondering is...would it have been right to kill it and go for the Harvest Earring, or leave it there in hopes no one kills it for half an eternity so it turns into Defoliate Leshy?

Wound up having to kill it because a bunchof JP were starting to gather around for it, unfortunately...but, just wanted input.



(And no, it didn't drop ><)
 
Any screen shots? Did it have different colored leaves or was it exactly the same as the regular ones?

I ran across that thing a few days ago and was able to solo it quite easily. Luckily I got the drop so I started reading up on the NM but no one could really explain what caused it to pop or what the conditions have to be in order to make it pop.

There was even less information on the Defoliate Leshy so I have no idea how to spawn that one.:???:
 
i ran acrossed this thing after an 75 xp pt in lufaise, and after binding and stunning till back up came, me and a 75 pld owned it and yes got the drop. 3rd on the server at the time!
my name is still in AH history i believe.
twas an easy battle, and it had reddish colored leaves.

Looks like a Leshy with a ton of red/autumn leaves.
At school right now, I'll upload a screenie when I get home ^^
 
The info on it must be wrong because i kill a few leshy everyday and I also see others out there everyday killing those leshy.

Maybe...but I've also not seen it pop in over 50h of killing Leshy, thinking it was lotto...and a few people have told me it pops the same way Taisaijin and Noble Mold do. *shrug*

Doesn't matter in the end I guess. =P

What does Defoliate Leshy drop?
 
It's been assumed it drops the Heims Earring, but not yet proven. Only heard of it dying like twice, and neither were on our server ><
 
So a NM that only pops if you dont kill its "placeholders" for 3 days and then turns into another NM...way to go SE with retarded popping methods D:

And that earring is pretty nice too ><
 
Just looked, some sites say Colorful is 21-24h so maybe I was just unlucky with that...but either way, don't think Defoliate will ever spawn unless he gets stalled a hell of a long time. ¬.¬
 
It would make sense that it would drop the Heims Earring considering the stats of the earring the the Colorful Leshy drops.

How hard it must be to keep random people (me) that are passing by from killing a NM in order for it to spawn a different NM. I could see that converstation going real well..... :nono:

its not 21-24 hrs. I've been around for a long ass time in that place, wouldve seen the drop more often too, if its not the 72 hr theory its something else, but i dont think hes on a timer

Also, would he even transform into Defoliate if he was claimed?
 
Its too bad there's no way to protect the NM from getting killed.
 
It seems to have the exact same pop time as Rose Garden...and the names make sense...

Overgrown Rose, leave it over time = Rose Garden.

Worded badly. Meant Somepage says all the Leshy hafto live 21-24h.

And I dunno if he'd tranform or not since I think it's one of those "mob a depops, mob b pops" sortof things. Could always deaggro it after all that time is done or something? *shrug*
Either way, SE is stupid for setting up an NM pop timer like that..they might as well make a "Now KB, Nidhogg and Aspi can pop into an even stronger NM with even better drops if left alive/unclaimed for 21-24h" thing. Cause y'know, seeing impossible pop timers is awesome.

And just to have an excuse to say that, since you guys like figuring out how to pop hard to understand NMs, help me figure out how to pop moblin wolfman :)
