Common knowledge these days that Comcast is the most disgustin' ISP out there. They aren't the only ISP doin' this though, not sure about the bad packets deal though. I know I've heard of a few ISP in Texas, probably worldwide, that are tryin' to move to a system where every customer shares bandwidth. Thats rape as far as I'm concerned. Can you imagine, in the Dallas area no less, how bad that would be after work hours and on weekends? Brutal, friggin' brutal. Time Warner is one of the ISP talkin'about it and seems like they might actually go through with it. They even reported they wouldn't cheapen internet because of this. Basically, what I read said, "If they want internet they have to come to us anyway", sad but true. A lot of areas out here have only a single cable company that somehow buys the area out so no other cablecompany can lay cable or provide service. In my area, if you want cable anything you canonly use TimeWarner. Some how Verizon came in about a half a year or so ago and laid their FIOS cables which apparently doesn't breach the cable companies buyout policies, because technically, it's not cable. So I think I'll be hittin' up Verizon soon. I hear it's leaps and bounds better as well, even the T.V. A friend of mine tells me it's like goin' from DSL to cable all over again, but I have my doubts about that. Even better, I'd save around $25 swappin' to Verizon and get free DVR and HD. Even if the net isn't faster that's all the more reason right there.
