I know that there's some comic book nerds out here and I was wondering what titles everyone likes. You can include comics of any language (yes manga is allowed) or publisher. You can list as few or many entries under each category but please don't go too crazy with it. If it isn't safe for work, please include spoiler tags with NSFW. Thanks!

I'll go first.

Favorite Characters:
-Shadowcat (Marvel Comics - X-Men, Excalibur, etc): She's always been one of my favorites. Started out as a scared teenager who didn't know how to use her power into a very strong character. She's great with computers and was trained to fight by Wolverine.
-Death (Vertigo - Sandman): She's a happy goth girl who happens to be the one that takes people to the afterlife. I love how Gaiman makes Death seem not so threatening and she's upbeat despite most people not wanting to see her.
-Doctor Doom (Marvel Comics - Fantastic Four): He's the ruler of a small country and has lots of inventions and nice metal armor. He's just badass.

Favorite Writers:
-Neil Gaiman (Sandman, Stardust, 1602, Spawn, etc): I love how he makes fantasy believable and more relevant. His novels are great too.
-Stan Lee (Do I really need to list what he did?): Nuff Said
-Chris Claremont (Uncanny X-Men, Excalibur, Superman, Aliens vs Predator, etc): This guy did the original Dark Phoenix Saga and Days of the Future Past. He also co-wrote with George Lucas the Chronicles of the Shadow War trilogy which was the sequel to the movie Willow.

Favorite Artists:
-Yoshitaka Amano (Vampire Hunter D, Sandman): I love how he mixes modern art with old Eastern style.
-Joseph Michael Linsner (Dawn): He draws women like they should look.
-Alex Ross (Lots of different covers and comics for Marvel and DC): Just beautiful. Very realistic and well done.

Favorite Series:
-Sandman (Vertigo)
-Pre 1990s Uncanny X-Men (Marvel Comics)

Titles Currently Reading:
-Dark Ivory (Linser)
-House of Mystery (Vertigo)
-Wolverine: First Class (Marvel Comics)
-Witchblade (Top Cow) Tristam calls it my boobies comic.

Sadly, I haven't read any in a long time.

Zyn, you should definitely check out Dark Ivory. Linsner is doing an excellent job with the artwork as usual in it. I just got back into reading comics myself. I stopped reading Marvel and most comics after they took the metal out of Wolverine. It just seemed like everything was getting silly.

I've been hearing really good things about Dark Ivory; I will have to check it out for sure. I LOVE the way he draws women and the fact that even flawed, they all kick a whole lot of ass.

I hear you about the thing with Marvel. I also started resenting how you had to buy 12 different comic books from all the different series sets to keep up with everything too... When things started being more gimmicky, they lost me.

Just blasting a couple out, for what it's worth, but I always liked Groo The Wanderer and The Nam. I have all Groo issues issued by PC and 1 through ~issue 50 on Marvel. Got all the The Nam stuff.

Also liked TMNT, GI Joe and Transformers comics.

For some reason I tend to get comics that have women realistically drawn (which I haven't heard Tristam complain about it) so I love Linsner's work. The stories are good too. I like vampire stories so Dark Ivory appeals to me.

Yeah Marvel was crazy back then and everything was a collector's issue. :/ I started reading Sandman around that time. I have been wanting to check out the House of M storyline from Marel recently.

I'm not the most comic-literate person around, since my buying comes in waves. My last comic binge started when Straczynski took over Amazing Spider-Man (hey, I liked the Gwen Stacy storyline). These days I'm just following stuff through trade paperbacks.

I used to buy all the Marvel 2099 books, which is why I invariably list my religion as the Church of Thor. I was also a big fan of Spitfire and the Troubleshooters back when Marvel launched its failed New Universe line.
