Command & Conquer Gold (House fans onry)

Ooooh, C&C gold for winXP. Least I don't have to download the iso's, as I own a original gold version of the game. (Yes, I probably could of done this a long time ago, but I'm lazy.)

Ninja-while still creating post edit: The dll to make the game XP'able apparently disables LAN play. </cry>

Still on topic but not quite:

Man I loved C&C, was the first RTS game I ever played, and the reason I enjoy them today. Mmm, the original mammoth tank. Ass-kicking glory packed into a "small" package. And the music, ahh the music. I could reminisce for some time...

Annnd not on topic: I'm not a house or scrubs fan. No nuking my hdd thankyouverymuchkthxbye :P

Haha XD
My favorite map was back before skirmish mode existed, one of the Covert Ops maps started you off with a commando, you fought a little bit, and then it was just an unhindered skirmish with NOD from there on. I must have done that one so many times...

You still have the Covert Ops? Cause I still got my original CD of that as well. Good ol $30 (cnd :P) double pack I picked up years ago. (Hell, I own almost all the original Westwood games (just missing a single Red Alert Expansion), and the ones I haven't bought, are iso's on my drive)

And true, back in the day, finding a map that allowed for almost-skirmish type play was a thing to treasure indeed. Then there was the special dino-missions. Those were fun. (forget exactly how to get those to run again though)

Well, not exactly. I didn't own the original proper copy of Covert Ops, but I had the PSX version (very first game of the series I'd played. I have everything else but Yuri's Revenge, Generals, and Sole Survivor as an original copy, and I also have The First Decade. Somewhat of a disappointment, but tied the whole series into a nice little bundle with a bit more compatibility.

...I really wish I could manually scrape Generals off the DVD though...

C&C 3 unfortunately didn't shine quite as well as I'd hoped though. They may have resurrected Kane, but the soul of the series is definitely dead...

Oh, and dino missions was a command line thing, wasn't it? I don't really remember offhand...

C&C ftw. I still have the original version for the N64, but I lost most of my CDs to the other C&Cs (Red Alert, Tiberium Sun) and the only ones I have left are Generals and Tiberium Wars. It's a darn shame too because I wasn't a big fan of Generals, but Red Alert 2 was by far my favorite. I can honestly say the series is starting to go downhill.

I've played generals a bit, and didn't like it at all. Classic example of EA attempting to make money off an established name, and fucking it up. Bizarre building scheme, I could go on and on. I don't own it, and never will.

C&C 3 wasn't bad imo. The three factions are nice, each with their own perks, and cheese, the same B FMV cut scenes, very nice visuals (which I can see in full glory with no/near none graphical lag), and extremely (too much so for me) fast game play. As I don't actually own it, no online play for me, but from what I've read online, playing against brutal opponents is easier on the sanity than playing against fucktards online (as long as I can turn the speed down, I'm good). It honestly looks like EA attempted to make a good C&C game, and almost made it. And personally, I loved the new ion-cannon. The ion-cannon in C&C and C&C TS/FS were just "blast a power plant to hope you knock his base-defense offline". They looked cool, but sucked. This is pure OMG-ION nukeage that I honestly love so much. I giggled like a little girl when I dropped one of those on my opponents base for the first time. Now I just grin stupidly, and laugh with glee. (To be fair, I love the new nuke and the Scrin black-hole thing too. I've not much <3 for the mothership as I can't get the damn thing to actually fucking work. Click attack, wait forever for it to fire, watch it fire, then watch it die, and see nothing happen. Scream argggg!!! at my monitor. Goooood times.)

Still, all in all, C&C is a great series, and just the fact you've posted the link to free original C&C goodness means one more person might stop and play it. And that, my fellow C&C fan, is a good thing.

Edit: Muahahaha it lives! The good ol' C&C is up and running. Ehehehehehe.

Original C&C had the pimpest music ever. The dinos were some alt-ctrl-numberscheme you hit from the main menu of Covert Ops which would port you into the secret missions.

I always loved the original visceroids, and I still think the old ion cannon was the best. Radius was too small but it looked, sounded, and punched like 20 tons of whoopass.

New C&C is fun if you dig quick missions/battles. I've always been a fan of the 6-hour epic wars. SupCom wins all in that department.

Shame that never ran properly for me, I wonder if they've patched it up to be playable yet...

What the hell happened to you?
Long story, I suppose you could say. The only unfortunate part is that I have no proof of what happened. Good job, you-know-who. ;D

*gasps* YAY!!!!! :D
