Ok so I came across this today, anyone know if there is some legitimacy to it or would it be a fake?

Wasn't this like something they made in the early stages of FFXI development? I know I've seen this before. No way all of it would be added of course, although it would be cool for them to add the far east, seems the most plausible area to add.
 
I agree, I mean, they kinda did set the story up for the Far East with Tenzen and all.
 
I saw this a few years ago, never heard anything about it though. Hope its legit, but don't think we'll ever go to those places.
 
It's fake, but based on information in the game.
The terrain for the unknown regions is made up.
 
There is a lot of information on the north continent (gigas land) and southern continent (mithra homeland) in the windurst WoTG quests/storylines with the male mithra. The island they called tsahyah shouldn't be that isle, they say its a "small" island from where the mithran sin trackers ( shikaree X Y Z etc) come from.
 
If this game lasts as long as EverQuest, we'll probably see all of those continents in due course.
 
That far western land looks an awful lot like North America.

Break that fourth wall, SE!
 
I know wiki is also based on user and game info, but didn't they say the Quon continent was the largest in Vana'Diel? So if anything, those other ones would at least need to be smaller.
 
For me that's as real as it gets. Seeing as how well it was made and SE never releasing an official/updated FFXI World Map.
 
I loved this map when I saw it even though it's fake. It gets me nostalgic.
