The Comprehensive Ignore System allows our members to ignore more than just another members text in a post.

First, members can ignore entire threads. These threads will then not show up in searches, forumdisplay, and "new posts".

Second, if a member puts someone on their ignored list, they stay ignored, meaning their threads will not show up when you click on a forum.

Members can ignore threads with certain tags.

Members can select to ignore an entire forum, so that they no longer see it, nor do search results that are located in those forums show to the user.

Members can review and remove ignores from their UserCP.

I know that tags are disabled, but I didn't want to half ass the project just in case in the future we did enable the tags.

Change the settings via UserCP. Ignore users the same way as before.

You can ignore full threads or forums by clicking on the Forum Tools or Thread Tools at the top of the page.

Please post here if you encounter any problems.
 
So far works fine for me, I ignored this thread and un-ignored it with no problems.
 
Just bumping this...want to make sure everyone has it working smoothly and correctly. The flameboard is easily ignorable now.
 
I don't see the option in Worksafe
 
Just in response to the responses to my post on the thread that was locked, I understand the purpose of this function now. Thank you for taking the time to explain it. Didn't get a chance to say that before it was locked before, so it looked like I said "I DONT GET IT" then nothing else =x

On the thread tools I get the option to ignore a specific thread, so that works.

However on the forum tools I cannot seem to find anything that will help me block the flameboard (or any other forum for that matter) from my vision.

I am against this, It may prevent me from spreading rightousness and defeating ignorance with my awesome words of wisdom and eternal common sense!!!

In my home country this would be referred to as a Scolopendra.

Changed to Element, it's there indeed!
Thanks, however I think it's indeed a good thing you noticed that this function isn't available in Element-Blue.
(Which I used at work until now.)
Haven't really thought of that myself.

However even with the Flameboard on my ignore I can still see it on the main page and read every topic that's inside of it.
However it does not show any flameboard topic up in any of my search queries anymore.
(Have I overestemated the function?)

Never mind that, just checked the settings for this function.
However the option to hide ignored forums is off by default.

Worksafe is updated.

Element Blue was modified and should be working correctly now.

Worked nicely for me. Didn't know you needed to "hide" the ignored forum in the UserCP though. Once I did that, the ignored Forum disappeared. Nice addition.


*Edit* I still see posts from the ignored forum in the "latest posts" thingy at the bottom of the front page. Not sure if its because they were there before I ignored that forum or not.

I believe the reason for that may be because of the hack we have for that module. I'll try to look into it but I can't promise results.
 
Any way this can be implemented into the ChatBox as well (to make ignored users' posts there not appear that it)?

Bump

Confirmation of a confirmation (in Worksafe), even with the 'Hide Forums that are Ignored' enabled.

Are the modmins still working/looking into this?

edit: It seems to be only sub-forums that won't disappear (I have all but the BLM, WHM, SCH, and BST job forums ignored), but the Sports forum has disappeared.

This is a cool added feature, thanks for adding it. Works fine for me in worksafe mode.
