Check to see if there is a loose cord from monitor to tower.

Check either that, or check depending on the card, the power supply to the card (Usually only if it's a kick ass card, or check to see if the card itself is lose, no idea why but people who put their computer sideways tend to get lose chips, happened to a friend once. Don't rule out pets if you have any, check the entire chord for punctures. Your situation is most likely what Romper said but don't rule out anything.)

LCD panel or CRT crate?

If it's LCD I would check to ensure your refresh rate is 60hz. My monitor was doing this immediately after I installed Vista and it was because the stupid thing for some reason decided 75hz would be better for my monitor.

Given that all LCDs run natively at 60hz I had to question MS's logic once again.

In addition, I strongly recommend to never go above 60Hz on an LCD unless your screen is a high quality LCD and backed by warranty. My LCD now has a burned in 'phantom mark' where the unit got too hot trying to keep up to 75 Hz. (Go Vista!) Good LCD's are supposed to prevent this, but somehow mine did not...

As far as fixing your problem - fuzzy could also be a driver issue, overheating issue, loose connection issue, or maybe just the moniter not fully synced to the signal. I know my LCD has an auto adjust that works wonderfully to fix the signal and screensize to the LCD display. (All I have to do is hit a button on the side, but you may have to run through menus depending on the brand to do an auto adjust).

[If by chance you are in the stoneages and have a CRT (TV like) - try degaussing the screen. I always loved to do that right when someone would turn on the T.V. =p]

Is there even a point to going above 60hz on LCDs? CRTs refresh per-frame so you can notice the flicker as it goes vertical down, but LCDs refresh per-pixel (or rather, per-holeinthelattice) and I noticed no difference between 75hz and 60hz (other than it fixing that weird fuzzy-fader problem).

I think the LCD auto-adjust is only available if you're using VGA. DVI connections are supposed to do all that automatically as it gets the details direct from the video card. My 2405 has no auto-adjust on DVI but it does on VGA, same with my secondary LCD.

Yea LCD, It was running at 75 Hz I put it on 60hz and its fine :D Thanks for all your help ;d
