Ok this lap top is junk i realize this now but its not that old, im trying to listen to music and for some odd reason it wont play it, in Winamp it just stays there and trys to read it i guess? i really dont know what its doing, but in WMP it just cycles through the songs instantly i and im confused as all hell my niece did spill liquid on the lap top, but it was minimal amount in a place where no openings were :\ i dont think it was that but does any one know if it could be another vista bug ?

I know Winamp is a piece of shit. Try loading a song by browsing to it through winamp. Sometimes the file names get messed up a bit in winamp, and if they are just one letter off or you moved the files to a new location, it will mess up the whole thing. So yeah, try browsing to a single song and playing it, or try playing it in media player or something. If that doesn't work, check winamp settings to make sure you have it set for winamp to play those types of files.

all i use for media is winamp! ^^ sounds to me like its trying to find your audio hardware and failing, have you had any other audio problems?

now i dont hear anything on vent, i hear soundeffects but no one is talking when there mic light lights up

Most edible liquids have the unique property of finding those dangerous cracks and crevices we can't see or that don't even exist.

You hear sound effects - from Windows, Vent, games, what? It almost sounds like your system has two sound cards but I've never seen that on a notebook. Normally if there was a problem with one sound card, you'd get error messages popping up from Winamp/MP/Vent saying "failed to initialize hardware" or something to that effect. If you're not seeing any such errors, that is something to note.

not getting any error messages, i just went all out and restored my computerback 5 days :D
