So, I think I killed my computer and I don't know how or how to fix it. It was working fine till I tried to duel box like 30 mins ago. I loaded up a second PoL and it started to freeze. Then it started to restart. I thought everything was fine but then once I loaded up PoL it kept restarting. Now it keeps restarting as soon as I enter the password to my computer at the start up screen.

I really don't know what happened <_<

Could be your video card is overheating/ed. Make sure all your fans in your computer box actually are running. I know most of my reboots in the past were due to chipsets that got to hot and the computer tried to "fixed" the problems based on Microsoft's fix pattern. Also, try and boot in safe mode to see if it's a hardware vs software issue. If you can boot in safemode fine then its a software issue and not hardware.

I checked the fan and it appears to be running but I know so little about computers so I doubt I checked it right. It's still being a prick with starting up and restarting.

XP or Vista? Press F8 when the computer is starting up and try "last known good configuration" from the menu. Also, from that same menu, you can try selecting "disable automatic restart on failure" and if you're getting some sort of BSOD, it'll at least stop when it happens so you can write down an error message.

Xp, the windows for computer retards.

What he said. You can also try a safe-mode system restore if you have it set to automatically set to save a restore point every once in a while. I'm not super computer savvy, but I can usually pinpoint my problems using simple methods.

There he goes again Tootin his own horn.

Could also be a virus, coincidently timed, but ive had certain things happen like that nonetheless. :nono:

Best of luck.

If you having a BSoD (Blue Screen of Death) Check out what causing it, it should say during blue screen

Since you set on auto restart... you can disable that option by

1) Start menu

2) Right Click on "My Computer"

2a) Properties

3) Tab -> Advanced

3a) Go to "Startup and Recovery

3b) Hit on Settings

4) Go to the Middle it should see "Automatically restart"

4a) Uncheck that box

5) Run POL again, if it freeze, it should be heading to BSoD soon

6) Write down the cause of error

bsod2cg1.jpg

7) Restart your computer

8) Go to IE or FF (Firefox)

9) www.google.com

10) Type in the cause of error on search

11) Some of the Fourm link will show/or Microsoft help support site

12) Find one if other user had the same problem as yours

13) There should be a solution on those forums

My Guessing is either your Hard Drive is failing, or your memory
But test other App programs, Run other games, try to run one game on window mode and load another games under window mode too, see does it freeze loading up second games. if it just isolated to POL, it could be some of your POL file is corrupted

Vand, lol. I couldn't even get to the start menu since it would keep restarting at the Windows Screen. It's all fixed now anyways. First my friend helped me reformated to see if that would work. It didn't, so I called my other computer friend and he showed me that my Video card was fried. Those battery looking things were cracked and leaking. I'm told that's very bad.

I got a new expensive one that I couldn't afford and now it's all working fine. I still feel like a jackass for reformating though since I lost 2 years of cool Dats that aren't on the site anymore, among other things lol

Edit: Does anyone know how I get sound back onto my computer? <_<

Go to the site of your pc maker.

compaq
dell
gateway
alienware

etc, and find the drivers tab, download them

Awww >.< sorry to hear that /comfort, well there is always new stuff on site that you can collect XD

Anyway remember running 2 FFXI = your graphic card is doing double the work, my graphic card can go all the way up to 79ºC full load on 2 ffxi (Exping/event fighting) glad i got like 110 CFM fan blowing directly to my GC lol and 78CFM on the side :3 lol

Don't tell me you fried your SC too >_ > lol

ya, like Ran said, Download Driver, if that still don't bring back sound try Go to Control Panel then Sounds and Audio Devices. Make sure is not on mute, and on each tab check what is your default device is set on

Or the company that makes your sound card if you have ever replaced the factory one.

I got it all fixed. Since I couldn't figure out what type of driver was needed I called a buddy of mine who does computer tech shit a living. He told me to just go to the Acer Support site. Did that and 5 mins later I have sound.

Now, all I have to do is redownload a fuck ton of stuff. Replace my old favorite Dats(which is a lot of work. I had like 200+ dats <_<) and remake all my macros lol.

"those battery looking things"

lol Limecat.

Acer Support? that's like Microsoft Works or a Pennsylvania Expressway. Does not exist

Acer likes to give you bad and outdated drivers (trust me I know) you probably wanna check the manufacturers site and make sure your driver is the right one BEFORE it gives you problems.
